• In all honestly, he was a million times more relaxed being there at the hospital. He was around people who he knew and trusted, and could keep an ear into what was being spoken about and actually understand what they were talking about, but he didn't have to worry about being in control. Right now, he was chit-chatting with that nurse still - a guy he had met, obviously, through work, and one that he had gone out for drinks with a few times, so felt comfortable around. • She leaned back down, her head in the pillow for a moment before she shifted again, her brow furrowed. Her lip tucked between her teeth, clearing her throat as she let out a slow breath, sitting up again. The tightening was becoming more intense and she just couldn't get comfortable. • With a small smile - so clearly nervous and anxious yet brimming with excitement - he murmured a 'catch you later' to the other mand and returned to her side. Lowering himself to the edge of the chair at her bed, he brushed a hand slowly through her hair and then slipped his other fingers into hers, voice soft. "Can I get you anything, baby?" He kind of sensed that she wasn't the most comfortable being in the hospital, but he was thankful that she wasn't complaining - he really wouldn't have things any other way. • "Some ice..." She requested softly before she sucked absently on the cold liquid and shifted on the bed again. "Things are starting to move a bit faster, I can feel it." She smiled lightly, her eyes drifting up to his. "How many baby's have you delivered?" It was so ironic, Seb, who had no medical training or any experience, had been more comfortable having his children be delivered at home while Kaleb who could easily handle the situation, wanted her in the safety of the hospital. • He did whatever she asked of him, before smiling a little and leaning in to press a soft kiss to her cheek and then speaking. "Only two actual deliveries, and i had partners with me... But I've transferred many women in labor..." He had so many stories, sometimes the ones with the unfortunate endings were the ones that lingered the longest in his memory, but every once in a while he was reminded of the good ones - like those two tiny babies and their mothers, who still brought the children to visit him every few months. • She nodded a bit, relaxing back into the bed and she was in fact drifting in and out of sleep before she was hit by the first real intense contraction, causing her to cry out and grit her teeth as her brow furrowed. It lasted a good while, her brow spotting with tiny beads of sweat before the spasm released her body and she sank back down onto the bed. "That one kinda hurt..." • He slipped his hand into hers and dabbed a cloth to her forehead, leaning forward a little and just murmuring softly to her. The hardest part about this was seeing her in pain and not being able to do anything about it. But soon enough - hopefully soon, that was - this would all be over and they would have their little baby girl in their arms... • She cleared her throat, letting out a shaky breath before she closed her eyes. "I think maybe you should get a doctor..." She stated softly before she bit her lip and opened her eyes to focus on him for a quiet moment. "Hurry." She stated softly, letting go of his hand. As soon as the doctor was there, a low breath escaped her lips and things progressed quickly, leaving her in lots and lots of pain and soft tears welling in her eyes. • He complied willingly and once the doctor was there, he just fell silent and sat at her side, offering gentle words of reassurance and encouragement. He was surprisingly calm now - as if just relieved to get the show on ther road. He wouldn't be able to relax completely though until he saw their baby there saw and sound and saw her alright and recovering. • The doctor kept him updated as the labor progressed and before long he was saying "Just a few more pushes, few more pushes Gabby." He stated softly, tipping his head to the side he encouraged her. Gabby cried out, gritting her teeth as she pushed herself up a bit, her head tipping back as she pushed, her hand still wrapped in his, not letting him go anywhere. • That had been completely her decision - drugs or no drugs - and he hadn't so much as suggested either option, so atleast she had that. He held her hand in both of his and encouraged her through it all, dabbing at her forehead every few moments. His gaze shifted between hers and the doctor a few times before he just inhaled in soft anticipation and settled his attention on the pained lines of her pretty features. • She cried out sharply once more before the loud sound of a babies cry filled the air. She dropped back down onto the bed before she squeezed his hand. "Kaleb... god.. Kaleb.. she's here.." She was a little shaky and definately worn out but really no worse for wear. • His breath caught softly and though his fingers remained tightly in hers, his eyes followed the tiny screaming baby intently - as if he couldn't quite believe that their little girl was here finally. While the nurses fussed over her, he turned his gaze slowly back to Gabby and broke a small smile as he leaned down to kiss her cheek softly and then brushed back her head slowly, reaching for a cup of water that had been placed beside her bed. • She nodded a bit though was silent as the little girl was finally placed in her arms. She was a little splotchy in color, thanks to her mixed race but she was so cute and scrunched up and she had Kalebs eyes and lips and it just all brought tears to her eyes. "She's so pretty..." She murmured as she looked up to Kaleb, clearing her throat softly before she let him help her sit up. The baby was already nuzzling her chest a touch but she shifted her towards him. "Hold her...?" • "She's perfect..." He agreed softly and lowered himself back to the edge of the chair as she held the baby, and then nodded slowly at her offer. Shifting up again so he could so carefully take the tiny baby from her arms, he cradled his little girl to his chest and inhaled quietly, murmuring down at the wide-eyed beautiful newborn. • She smiled adoringly at how he was cradeling her so gently to his chest, and she was just amazed for a moment at the amount that she loved him, their daughter, and their whole little family. A sigh escaped her lips, a content sound as she gazed at them. "She needs a name..." She murmured quietly, smiling as the little girl open and closed her tiny fist.
