~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I have no argument with your statements above. Christian beliefs - which was written about many years after - certainly has incorporated many elements of Paganism for the new beliefs to be accepted easily. People are also quite often stubborn about leaving their old traditions behind.
The Mother/Father belief is something I accept readily also - as Prinncesss can tell you. There is much to support this belief in the Bible. But many fundamental Christians are threatened by this, because I can use the Bible to prove them wrong with their 'all-male' substitute.
There are two main theories about why the
>witch hunts where started. One is the "Top to bottom
>theory" which states the higher members of the church
>started it the other is the "Bottom to top theory"
>which states that it was the common peoples fear that
>started it. Which ever it was all that needs to be
>said is that it seems that Christians took stuff from
>the Pagans and then after they where done recruiting
>turned on them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~I think people 'create' things with their fear, certainly. But why would pagan believers fear anything if their motivation was one of love for all? I think that men (in religious authority) felt that paganism carried to its fullest extent would kill them through making them unnecessary, if they didn't kill the perpetrators first.

But if pagan believers could have somehow incorporated Christian beliefs at the time, to ensure that those men didn't feel threatened, much of the massacre could have been avoided. I guess an arguement could be made for either side.

>What are your views on Heaven then?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I think that we create heaven or hell depending on our beliefs and lifestyles here on earth. We reap what we sow. But hell couldn't hold me, I love too much. Expressing that love to others does much to wipe it out of other's minds also. I would love for hell to be completely eliminated from our vocabulary and our beliefs. Yet I also understand that many men need this belief in order to make themselves and their work necessary. They want power and self-glorification more than anything, and fear seems to be the handiest tool to get that. It is wrong, I believe. Someone has got to show them that love is the only way to get any real authority. The one who wants to be the most repsonsible will have the most power in the end.
>I have had people tell me that because I am not
>Christian I know less about it then if I was
>Christian. Once I told them I WAS Christian there
>voice changed to an "Oh, well...have you thought about
>going back to church?" Although the major church
>denies it the people try to recruit others and that is
>something that I have grown to hate or if I am in a
>good mood make fun of such as saying "I don't feel
>like being saved today"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I think I understand a bit more now about you. And I can see where you have gotten your hurt feelings. People who aren't loving can do so much damage to others that are vulnerable - especially young people who are so open to what older people tell them.

But even though I left the church also, I had to go back to it. I realized that I had a job there in that I had to change some things. I wasn't afraid of them, I loved them. I think you would also agree with going back for this reason, wouldn't you?

So I have reason to believe the Christian church will be much changed not too long from now, to incorportate not only the female in God, but to have love and life as it's primary goals for eternity, instead of fear and self-glorification.

God has been willing to move some of them in my direction to listen to my advice, and for this I am grateful. I would work with anybody - Christian or non - because I do not discriminate. But I cannot teach anybody if I don't love them first. I also work on the internet (obviously) as you do, and try to correct some things that way. The problem is world-wide, that is clear.
