I have to say, I'll be delighted if the 'de-chipping' spoiler is true.

It's about time this business of which way Spike will turn, chipless, is resolved. I mean, realistically, how long could they go on with the storyline the way it is now? Sooner or later, they have to have the character able to make some decisions based on wanting to, and not having to, and to do so, he has to be chipless.

In the very interesting Marti Noxon interview you posted on the main board, Ruf, she mentions that, with regard to having Spike as the Big Bad, they had 'been there, done that', so I can see him deciding to stay on the side of the good, can't you? Because he chooses to. (Though maybe I'll add an 'eventually' to that sentence, if only because I don't think his decision would be an instant one - or should be, for that matter. I'd like to see him strongly tempted by the dark side, and for B and the Gang to see that temptation, and to see that he can resist said temptation).
