I'm opposed to affirmative action of any kind, it is simply being racist which is inherently wrong to me. Basically, it's the equivalent to say it is OK here to be racist, but not in the workplace or other organization.

I don't have any issues with ethnic diversity. However, I've been the victim of "reverse discrimination" when looking for a job about 8 years ago. I've watched other minority females with less merits get hired for being the minority to fill a quota.

College admissions should be based on merit only (I'm also opposed to athletic scholarships which have little to do with education, IMHO). I barely got into the college that I went to due to strict admission guidelines and a lack of number of qualified applicants. It was all male at the time. It has since gone co-ed. If I applied today, I probably would not have been accepted since there is a larger pool of applicants to pull from.

Solutions, keep it merit based and let the chips fall where they may. I don't have issues with additional government funding to inner urban schools to increase quality of output.
