Subject: Crikey!

For the past 4 days I have been digging holes to bury the concrete slabs that the former owner thought was needed for his dairy barn. They are the channel that feeds the detritus from inside the barn to another place outside the barn. These babies are not too big but I can't break them up with the big sledge hammer. 70yrs old and stronger than heck. Measure 6' long by 14"w x 14" thick. There are 4, 2 on each side of the channel, 2 of them are now buried. Rain came like the banshees' today and now the fill has sunk down admirably. Topped off the fill this afternoon and am happy the one side is done other than putting the sod back. Gata tell you the first foot or so was mostly large stone and had to use a potato fork to loosen the soil. As in all things it was a good time for the hard work cause winter had me wimped out. Now to find the septic tank. After the third hole I decided to rent a video monitor to find out exactly where that bad boy is. $160 for 4 hours for the monitor, going to pick it up soon. Nothing wrong with the septic other than I want to know exactly where it is, just in case.
