Subject: Just now house fire down the road a half mile. Walked down to look.

I know the woman that lives there. She was hard up financially and the house was falling apart. Couple years ago when I was still working she needed some chimney work and another neighbor asked me to work on it. Went to look at the chimney and refused to touch it as it was unsafe imo and did not want to be responsible. Did bring a big ladder and gave the sons pointers on how to repair bricks falling off. Poor woman and her adult boys lived there, not anymore. Smoke so thick could not see a fire nor the house. The smell of old lumber burning was intense. Lots of tanker trucks bringing in water.
