- Janine, employee at the Bradford Spee-D-Mart and later Courier. I imagined her a younger Emily that was content, but her desire to spread wings comes while at the Courier. She isn't Brenda. It isn't journalism that drives her to change.

- Someone from Disciplines of the Savior (other than the Swifts), especially someone younger than Jennlynn that receives a wake-up from her heroism and the subsequent reconciliation.

- Or maybe Barbara Bishop of WOXI learns her lesson. She's still young.

- Cory Luma, Jason Macrae's friend, after he dropped Wildlife Bio and got a girlfriend.

I imagine you want to connect Bradford, yet a younger crowd than the 1988 Grads. Some characters from Cattail in Wychbold would be possible, such as Marty, the mechanic, or the retired Burn's grandkids.

G'day,

May I suggest Emily's daughter Kayla. You can develop her running at the same time as you develop her political awareness as started in Picking Up the Pieces. There's opportunity there to start with her in high school or college and involve her with the appropriate local politics while developing her running career.

Some drama can be added by having her become a leading Olympic running candidate and then an injury forces her out of running and deeper into politics.

Regards,

Ernest
