The Associated Press reported that Chris Economaki has died at age 91. He was editor of the National Speed Sport News for more than 60 years. He also appeared on TV for than 40 years covering motor racing. He was part of ABC's first telecast in 1961 from Daytona International Speedway. I remember seeing him many times in pit row interviewing drivers and others and reporting on the status of the racing cars. I remember Wes mentioning his publication in Bullring Days though I don't if he mentioned Chris by name. He was probably reporting racing during the era when Spud, Frank and Mel were racing.
