I love Wes Boyd's books. I've read them many times. The following are phrases that Wes uses many times in his books. If I came across them without knowing who wrote them, I might guess that Wes was the author.

01) Gee, zow!

02) ... and that is that.

03) Oh, my, yes...

Maybe you have some favorites you woulf like to share.

Not long ago, I was somewhere -- I don't think I was at work -- but I heard someone say "Gee, zow!"

To be perfectly fair, I've taken to quoting Gil's "we'll blow that bridge when we get to it." Especially at work.

I've been using a variant of this for years before Spearfish Lake -

'We'll burn that bridge when we get to it'

"it just about has to be" - there are a lot of "just about"'s

"it might not be the dumbest idea I ever heard"

I've always taken them to be UPisms or maybe Upper Midwesternisms, rather than "Wesisms". That's the way they seem to my Southern/So. California sensibilities.

Yes, I've only heard "Gee, zow!" from UPers, although one of them was in St. Paul, MN when he said it.

Of course, I heard "Golly Gee!" a lot in Kentucky back in the 60s.

BTW: I intentionally use "Jinkies!", from Velma of Scooby-Doo, much to the delight of my kids.

Many of Wes' female characters seem to GUSH when they talk.
