You are missing my point about Jon Voight. I applaud him for taking a stand with the liberal world he lives in. You can bet if Jon Steward was conservative being in Hollywood he wouldn't have the backbone to take a stand. He would just blend in with all the others like he does now, especially if he pokes fun at others point of view because he stands on the opposite side. But that is exactly my point when it comes to liberals, it is the only defense they have to their one sided way of thinking. The time I saw him he was being interviewed by Bill O'Reilly and I thought the two of them had a very respectful conversation.
As far as Jon Voight goes with the lack of respect his daughter has for him, I am sure people in Hollywood make fun of him every chance they get, with Jolie leading the pack. They probably say,"He is a crazy old man." and "Even his own daughter won't speak to him and hates the man he is." So I am sure he isn't taken seriously and as I told my hubby, my bet is he is done getting any movie roles in Hollywood because of it.
But still, I have to give credit where credit is due, I think it takes guts for him to stand and shout it. He believes in what he stands for and isn't threatened by the back lash he might suffer. Bravo to him!
Liberals turn me off because of their smug attitude. And you are right, I probably lean way more right because of my faith in God. But, I would fight to the death in defending God if he beckoned me to.I like where I live because I don't have to defend him as such. The people I surround myself with, most believe as I do. I am not a world traveler and choose not to be because anyone who questions the word of God isn't worth a moment of the anger it would bring out in me. That is exacty what these people hope to achieve with their lack of faith. To bring out the anger so Satan can find his way in. When God informs me the time has come to defend, you can bet, anyone close to me will know it without my having to say a word. I would be on the front line and that is exactly where I was born to be placed. Anyone who feels the need to question it, that is their right as we all have been given free will. But, that doesn't mean it changes my point of view in the least so it is just easier to let them figure it out for themselves. The day will come when they will shout, "God Help me" from the depths of their soul and only then will they ever truly understand, so I don't feel it is worth the waste of my breath explaining it to them.
The only place I would like to visit while here on this Earth is Lebanon. That would have meaning to me on a different level not traveling the world to hear a liberal point of view. That just doesn't sound appealing to me at all because nothing could ever change my core beliefs. I am so very grateful for being blessed with the strong roots and solid base to finding it.
