Subject: Miss Chinese International 2003 was rigged. Author: Ruth Ko [ Next Thread | Previous Thread | Next Message | Previous Message ] Date Posted: 05:55:34 01/29/03 Wed Kuala Lumpur won because Astro TV in Malaysia bought the "LIVE" TV telecast. The have been pushing Malaysia to win in the past few years. Any country that buys the LIVE telecast stands a better chance of getting the top 5. It was a matter of time Kuala Lumpur would win. And she won this year. It's purely for commercial value and not really the best girl wins. Miss KL was poorly dressed thoroughout the contest and was always doing the wrong things. As national directors we all know. In the past the pageant were based on merits of the girls now its purely commercial. Yes and its true that the finals has been predicided. There is no judging on the final night. The standard of Miss Chinese International has gone from bad to worse in past years. The winner does not even look good in swimwear and she is not even popular ith the girls. When she was crowned. She was just left standing there Alone. Even the audience was totally shocked and disbelief. Miss Kuala Lumpur stole her answer from Miss Melbourne back stage and repeated it word for word.The girls n her group know this. FYI - Astro in KL is a young TV station and the rights for the telecast are very cheap -in fact its become a political problem in Malaysia at one stage cos they are overwhelmed with HK made shows which dominates their stations due to the low costs involved - so your argument has no substance to it !!!
