My comments on each contestant's performance:

1. She was fierce on stage! This girl really wanted to win; I thought she deserved to win something.

2. Annie was the best choice for first place. I beg to differ to those who don't believe she has a chance for MCI. She has a great face, attitude and personality.

3. Spunky all night! A great performance.

4. One of the best looking delegates who was a bit nervous that night.

5. A tug-a-war for Miss Talent between Sarah and Olivia. She was very poised and elegant on stage.

6. She deserved all the awards she had received that night! I had her in top 3 without a doubt. She smiles naturally as she wants to, not as she has to.

7. I think she worked very hard and her performance was flawless.

8. Another bubbly, fun delegate.

9. This girl has an irresistable personality! Too bad she didn't win anything.

10. One of the best looking delegates who was a bit nervous that night.

Overall, the juding was fair this year. Congrats to ALL the contestants, you're all winners!

Hey those are very accurate accessments, now that I saw the TV show on tape, I just realized how good #2 and #6 looked on camera. And now that I look back at it, they also have such natural smiles (not forced) in person. So assuming that they did very well on their interview with the judges, I can see how they could have won.
peace out.

1. Overall performance was really really good. Olivia did really well that night, but obviously the judges felt others did better. I personally felt she should have gotten something, like the talent award, but her dancing talent wasn't as unique as #5's talent, so I can see why #1 didn't get it.

2. Overall, she gave me the feeling that she was nervous all night and didn't have as much confidence as #6. But she does have a bit of that so-called 'winner's look'--maybe that is the only reason why she won, afterall this is a beauty pageant mostly based on LOOKS. Her talent part just accentuated her look and assured the judges that they were making the right decision. Many of the other girls did better than her during the interview, so i fail to belive that her interview contributed a large part to her win.

3. Very modern, westernized look. She did really well and I feel that her place was well deserved. She didn't have the winners look judges look for, but she was such a perfect overall package (that didnt quite fit into the classic chinese culture) that night that 3rd place was pretty much hers from the start. But you could tell she wasn't very happy to receive 3rd place if you observe her expressions when they announced her name. She didnt exude the confidence a top 3 winner shold have either.

4. Definitely one of the most underrated girls. Very pretty, pleasant smile. I think the only reason why she faltered was because of her lack of confidence in her eyes and voice--you could tell she was shy, but not nervous, just SHY. She looked incredibly elegant the whole night and I totally thought she would get 3rd place ( a tie between #4 and #3).

5. Confident and stood out well. Well deserved placement for the Talent Award--it was unique and she did it so incredibly confidently that i hadn't doubted for a second she would have won--infact, her confidence made me think that if she had done any other talent, she still would have won due to her confidence. I also noticed that she looked the healthiest out of all the girls, and was very well spoken at both the intro and interview.

6. Elegant, poised, and she knew what she was doing. Her smile was very real, natural. She gave me the impression of Miss toronto's 2002 first place winner during her interview--she didnt smile too much, but her eyes told a whole different story. She had a 'too chinese' look (like FOB china/ classic chinese girl) so i can understand why she took 2nd place. But overall, she had one of the best performances all night.

7. Confident look.. maybe a bit too confident, because she didn't look like she was smiling, but looked a bit too cross. Her talent was a great one and she looked really elegant the whole night. I thoguht she would get 1st or 2nd, but she also gave me a slight robotic feeling throughout the night.

8. Fun bubbly look. the talent was unique but probably not a good one for the show.. compared to the others it was rather boring (same with #6's painting/poetry thing). She did well, but for some reason, she didn't do anything to make her standout in my mind. Don't know why.

9. Quite the mature looking one in the group. Her talent was good, but maybe just a bit too sexy for MCV. She was another underrated girl--if her mandarin was better and quite possibly the hair style, I feel she would have gotten 3rd place. She looked elegant the whole night, but her command of the chinese language might have caused her to falter.

10. Good performance the whole night, but her posture isn't too great and her talent didnt really do it for me. Like #8, she didnt really do anything to standout in my mind, but she had good height and was well spoken.
