No matter how hard they try (diet, give up schedules for training, lessons, etc.), they will get what production wants them to get--nothing, or the crown. It is alll fixed. All about money and politics. Sorry people, but thats reality. There is no real point in watching these stupid shows anymore, because its not about judging real beauty, its about politics and who has the most money. For example the gals representing Australia in the MCI 2003 were all from Taiwan (Taipei) talk about connections. The funiest thing is that the Miss Chinese Quest for Brisbane, Sudney and Melbourne were sponsored by the Taiwanese Associations.(what a coincidence)So u are so right about how money and politics play a big part in the "Pageants" these days. There were so many prettier Chinese girls in Australia than the ones represented in the MCI 2003. They could even speck Chinese and the one from Melbourne looked like a man whore drag queen.
