You don't necessarily need a D&C even if you are not currently pregnant. Get a second opinion. Doctors push D&C, and I think it's not wise, because sometimes a woman is still pregnant, and there is also a possibility of introducing infection, which can cause significant problems for a very long time. As long as nobody has ever entered the uterus, there is a much greater chance there will be no problems if there is a miscarriage. The only reason I can think of for having a D&C is if there is uncontrolled bleeding or infection. I am not a doctor, so I urge you to go to a doctor and get a second opinion. Try to find someone who isn't D&C-happy.
