If a married woman is seeking knowledge of her religion but her husband really doesn't have the time to teach her because he works long hours to provide for her -- 4 questions:-o
1. Can he prevent her from going to the majid to learn during reasonable hours?

2. What if the sister works and the only time she can get to the masjid is after maghrib?

3. Is it obligatory for him to pay for her to be taught?

4. Is there any fault on the wife if she neglects house duties to go to the masjid to seek knowledge of her religion?

As saalamu Alaikoum,

Praise be to Allah.

Again, the prophet(saw) said, "Do not prevent your wives from going to the Mosque to seek knowledge of their Deen" [Bukhari and Muslim]

I dont know of any Mosque that would charge a person to come to seek knowledge of islam because knowledge of islam is not for sale.

The Prophet(saw) has ordered women to stay in their homes for it is better for them.. however he encouraged the sahaba to allow the women to go to the mosque to seek knowledge.. so your husband should not prevent you from going to the mosque to join in any classes there.

But other than that.. you should stay in your home and seek knowledge by Reading Quran, Reading the Hadiths, Listening to lectures and tapes, Joining website such as AlQuran Wa Sunnah Islamic Site of Learning and etc.

AND ALLAH KNOWS BEST
