Subject: Hello and a question

First a quick introduction: I first bought SL when it was a pre-order from AH, and ditto for the first two expansions. By the time GI came out I'd left home for the military, my copies vanished into some black hole, and I never saw the game again.

I just purchased all four games on eBay and, while anxiously waiting for them to arrive, I've been reading my old copies of The General and scouring the Web. I've begun to develop some concern for the well-being of non-US units--armor in particular--in light of there apparently not having been any updates (not counting ASL, here) to the way things like armor bonuses (the thin squares around some factors to show better-than-average ratings, for example) are defined in the pre-GI counters.

Is this an issue, in practice? I have no intention of getting mixed up in the ASL scene, so I wonder how you "classic" SL players handle the series being cut off when it was?

Thanks in advance!

Mark
