As the eyes of ice rested on her she did not flinch away, did not even blink. There was rare a time when she had coward before a man or more recently beasts and this would not be one of them. No matter what time and space had done to him this was her partner, her comrade in arms. ”Aye not for their lack of trying.” She gave the briefest of shrugs with her left shoulder, a habit thanks to the nerve damage she was sure to have suffered when fang had torn into flesh. She wasn’t sure why the venom hadn’t taken to her hold as it did most. She had counted herself lucky, though in truth there was blood far worse within her line than vampire, something she would not know till it was too late.
Slender yet deadly digits racked through raven strands as she gave a nod to his response for their government knowing nothing. ”Nor would they wish to I am sure.” Thinking of the government and motherland caused a ping of bitter sweetness to arise, though it was pushed aside as he spoke eyes lifting to the fact hardened even more than the last she had seen it. It was then that she saw the hunger flare his words reaching her but try as she wanted they could not erase the bile that formed in throat or the anger that suddenly flared within as she put two and two together. ”So it is as feared. You are uppyr now comrade. I had hoped they kill you instead.” She could not hold back the emotion there but where anger was present it was not directed at him, but the beast within, or better the one who had caused this. Subconsciously hands drifted to her side uncrossing them so as to allow quicker access to her weapons if she should need them.
”It was suppose to be me, not you. я извиняюсь.” The words I am sorry coming out, something he would know she did not say lightly for rare was her moments of apology. There was no room for mistakes in their line of work, yet here they were one lost to their country and thought dead the second forsaken for refusing to give up. She knew she should try and kill him, for was not her neigh their mission to gather intelligence so they could have done just this? Yet even as the thought crossed her mind she knew it impossible. Even if her knowledge of his actions could give her an edge, he knew her just as well as she him. Their fight would not be easy and neither would leave unharmed, but worse she severely doubted her ability to finish him if ever such a situation presented her, she was after all the only visible human in a club full of supernaturally enhanced beings.
Their talk had but begun but already she knew the time was coming to an end, she saw the struggle within her former partner. The need to touch, but not just touch a desire to tear and drink. Where once he craved her flesh now he craved her blood and the thought sickened her far more than she wished to admit. ”I would never be so foolish. I am but one in a room of three. Though I did not come unprepared.” Slight flick of her wrist revealed the stake she had concealed within the leather arm of her jacket. He would of course know of her knife against right calf or the pistol in the back of her belt. Though where once normal bullets lay in the magazine it now possessed silver and wooden bullets alternated, as you never knew which beast you would scare up.
She of course never mentioned she knew he was not as he once was, because the old Eric would never have gone for one with so much color, he had once preferred flesh bare of mark and soft like snow. It had been one of the reasons Americans had appeased him for a while, though none had been able to keep up with him in bed. She doubted this had changed, though perhaps his new companion would. ”She is not stupid.” Motion given to the woman he had left at the bar, pretending to eye the man she figured to be a werewolf or shifter sort. ”Not your normal type, but you be un-normal now.” All of her words had been delivered without emotion, solid in accent without faltering. The only time she had shown an ounce of her former self was when she had apologized.
”What now?” A common question she had asked of him, an opening to dictate what they would do now. Where once he’d have told her of a mission’s next step, tonight she asked to know what he would do now, what they’d both do now.

It's a devil's disguise
Angel in black
I don't know if I want you back
You're the cool nights of the desert
And the hot kisses of the sun
Why is it that I don't believe you
When you say I'm the only one
I know I'm the lonely one
It's a devil's disguise
Angel in black
And I recognize the shadows from your past
It's a devil's disguise
Angel in black
