In reply to: Lessa & Clay 's message, "::Burning Bright::" on 07/ 8/09 1:37:55pm

James smirked, flagging down a waitress and ordering a beer, since it looked like Clay wasn't coming back anytime soon. "Wow, I never thought there where so many... Are they all yours?" He liked animals, but horses he didn't really understand. They where all ways freaking out and hurting themselves... Though they had to have some apeal, or people wouldn't have them for sport, they really weren't needed in todays day and age. As the waitress came back with his drink, he payed her and thanked her, taking a sip as he thought about Lessa's question. "I like the quiet. We grew up in the country, city life has been a bit hard to adjust to. Having the cabin, and the ranch, to relax in has been a life saver..." Even with Jess getting shot at.

Jess' brows quirked at his words, he knew... She'd thought it possible that he might have some idea what she was, but she didn't think he'd be so... Heartfelt about his actions... It was like he didn't care that she was a skin walker, as if it was just a choice of hair style... "I'm not a shifter..." God, why was she telling hims this?! "I'm a Skinwalker... We can only shift into one animal" It was already so unsafe for him to know she was anything odd, let alone know exactly what she was. Maybe she needed someone to know, someone who wouldn't torture her for being herself... Someone she could trust... "By all rights, I aught to kill you for knowing this...." But there was no conviction in her voice, no threat. She sounded tired, defeated even. Like she was just waiting for him to attack her... Just so long as he got it over with, so she could start healing again

i move on like a sinners prayer
i let 'em go like a levee breaks
walk away as if i don't care
learn to shoulder my mistakes
getting reckless when there's no need
break my heart but it won't bleed
i'm better as a memory than as your man
