cheers for that, when i noticed that it had been dredged and that i wasnt catching anything i moved a lot further down where it was wider and deeper with lots of small roach swimming so i thought that this would be the perfect place to set up, about 30 feet further up from me there was another pike angler and within ten minuites of me getting there he had a 28lber out which got me quite excited because i knew that there were big fish in the area but i only managed to get out 1 jack pike the whole day when the other chap was raking them in he had 2 12lbers and a 15, i asked him what bait he was using and he said that it was a half mackerel, any ideas why he was catching and not me? i was using a sardine though, is mackerel just a better deadbait than sardine or was i fishing it wrong .......... please help as i intend to go down there again and get me some big uns.
