Okay, Am I the only one who was struck by the Mulder similarity in the schizo-guys schtick? No, I think Scully noticed it too...see her little smile of bemusement? And I am wondering more and more if my pet Bad Writing Ending will come to pass. I am sure that you remember...Mulder in the institute screaming for Scully as the Smoking Man calmly looks up from outside grinds out his cigarette and turns to walk away.

Because...you know...It was all a psychotic's delusion...the Truth I mean. <<--Similar to the hackneyed "it was all a dream" ending.

And then this episode(which you notice was an ordinary crime story with NO real creepy overtones at all...even the Schizophrenic's visions were explained by his years of single-minded obsession...oh, and who does THAT remind us of?).
