I was on the cruise from Malta March 1979. The first place we visited after Malta was Gythion (not sure that is the correct spelling) on the west coast of Greece. I remember the morning we were leaving Alexandria as I was up early on deck. Beautiful morning blue skies. I was coming back down to the dorm when we hit the sandbank and was thrown as I just go into the dorm. They later said that it had been due to bad weather conditions!!! We missed out on our next stop which was supposed to be Rhodes and Istanbul and they flooded our dorms to try to rectify the list of the ship. My school was split between 2 hotels and the girls stayed in the four seasons which was lovely and the food was great there.

Had a brilliant time nonetheless thanks to my parents. Best experience I every had and met some fantastic lads from Liverpool who were a great laugh.
