At 8pm on March 30th, Miss Asia Pacific International had the 2nd set of contestants perform their talent. Miss Tahiti performed some national dance to start the night off. Miss China showed a picture she drew using calligraphy. Miss Paraguay danced and Miss Ivory Coast performed some acting. Miss Lebanon and Miss Afghanistan also danced.

At the end of the night, another 5 awards were given out for those who participated in the talent show. Miss Afghanistan won the "Audience Popularity" Award. Miss Russia won "Best Dancing" and Miss El Salvador won "Best Singing". Miss Lebanon won the "Best Costume" Award and the last award was "Best Answer" given to Miss Iran.

On the evening of March 26th, over ten of the Miss Asia Pacific International contestants participated in a talent show held in Lung Cheun Ka Hotel. The contestants from around the world showed off their different talents which let the audience and crew members have a chance to experience cultures from all sorts of different countries.

The whole night was very exciting and the audience applause were extremely loud. First performance was Miss Venezuela performing a modern dance piece, "Don't Stop the Music Baby." Miss New Zealand danced a piece that she coordinated herself. Miss Nepal used her ability to dance to narrate romantic love stories. Miss India's dancing was fabulous. Miss Albania sang the song from titanic, "My Hear Will Go On" followed by some dancing. Miss Vietnam sang, "We Are The Campion" and gained great applause. Miss Sweden sand, "My Heart Belongs to my Dad." while Miss Chile performed some acting. Costa Rica showed some Kung Fu. The last performance was by New Caledonia who used fire to do some exercises.

New Caledonia quickly earned herself the "Audience Popularity" Award with her talent. Miss India won the "Best Dancing" Award, Miss Vietnam named "Best Singing", Miss Nepal won the "Best Costume" Award and the last award given out that night went to Miss Albania, who won the "Best Humor" Award.

The 36th Miss Asia Pacific International Pageant will be held in Guangzhou, China for the first time. Yesterday afternoon, 29 contestants who have arrived in China headed to Hainan. Perhaps because they are staying in China for the 1st time, the contestants seem to be even more excited than the audience. Almost all the contestants have said "I love China!" They said coming to China for the pageant is very exciting. Miss Malaysia and Miss Philippines have even been using Chinese to communicate with the audience, which won them loud applauses.

The press favorites varies from Miss Thailand, Miss Chinese Taipei, Miss Philippines and Miss Venezuela, who are all already the big heat to win the "Media's Favorite Award". The pageant will be held on April 9th, with over 50 contestants. The pageant is set to broadcast in China and around the world.

Dalila Dragojevic (20) won on Saturday night the title of Miss Universe Slovenije 2005. The 1.71 m beauty will represent Slovenia at the Miss Universe 2005 pageant in Bangkok on May 30th.

Western Australia's Michelle Guy, a university student from Perth, will represent Australia in the Miss Universe 2005 pageant in Thailand after winning the national final in Darwin on Friday, April 1st.

19-year old Michelle is 5'10" tall and will follow in the footsteps of current Miss Universe Jennifer Hawkin, who crowned her. She beat 23 other young Australian women, including four from the Northern Territory, to take out the Australian final at SkyCity Casino.

Michelle broke down and cried when she won the prestigious title. "I'm shocked. I had no idea. I was not expecting this at all," she said.

"I'm just a uni student - this is huge. It's great to get the opportunity to represent Australia and be myself. It's beyond my wildest dreams."

Jennifer Hawkins said that Michelle had all the qualities needed to do well in the Miss Universe pageant in Bangkok next month. "She is so cute and beautiful - she has the complete package," she said.

Angela Gan, 23 from Sabah was crowned Miss Malaysia Universe late last night in Kuala Lumpur. She is a University of Leeds Child Studies graduate. She won RM5,000 cash, a Swarovski crown, cosmetics and RM30,000 worht of personal appearances. Gan represents Malaysia at the 2005 Miss Malaysia Universe in Bankok, Thailand this May.

BANGKOK - The annual Miss Universe pageant - to be hosted this year by Thailand - will start at 8:00 am (01:00 GMT, 9:00 pm EST) to allow the show to be broadcast live at prime time in the US, organisers said on Thursday.

Thailand will host the Miss Universe pageant on May 31, but the main audience for the annual beauty extravaganza still seems to be in the US, which will get to see the outcome of the contest live on TV at 9:00 pm eastern standard time.

"The show is going to be live on NBC, and America is the biggest television audience in the world," said Tom Kruesopon, chief organiser for Miss Universe 2005. "That's just the way it works."

The Miss Universe pageant has been under The Trump Organisation, of New York-based property magnate Donald Trump, since 1996.

"I don't think the contestants are going to sleep," said Kruesopon at a press briefing.

A billion people are expected to tune in to the annual international beauty contest that has been held for the past 54 years in different locales.

Thailand is hoping to use the event to help promote tourism, especially in southern destinations such as Phuket and Phang Nga islands that were hard hit by the December 26 tsunamis.

Rositsa Ivanova, 17, has lived through her once-in-a-lifetime moment to be crowned Miss Bulgaria 2005.

In hard competition with 43 young ladies from different parts of Bulgaria, Ivanova heard her name to be the winner in this year's pageant and now will represent the country at Miss World 2005 in China, next December.

Rositsa is 1.73 m tall; she was born in Sofia, studies at the city's First Private English Language School and dreams of becoming a lawyer one day. She likes playing the piano and doing fitness in her leisure time.

All 44 top beauty contestants, aged between 17 and 20, showed off in several rounds under the scrutiny of 17-member jury panel.



Galina Gancheva, 18, was named Miss Bulgaria Universe 2005.

Ralitsa Bratovanova, 17, swept the crown of Miss Bulgaria Europe 2005. They will be go for the challenge of Miss Universe 2005 in Bangkok and Miss Europe 2006 in Paris respectively.

Accidentally won Miss Phuket Popular.She receives more than 200000 Thai Baht. This award provided by Phuket Island Goverment.Miss Thailand Universe organzation had decided to bring all the delegates to Phuket, After Tsuzami affected to Southern Provience of Thailand. Gionna Cabrera, 22 (center), waves after being crowned Miss Philippines-Universe 2005 during the annual Binibining Pilipinas pageant that took place in Manila on March 19th.

Gionna is 1.75 m tall and will represent the Philippines in the Miss Universe pageant in Bangkok. Her ambition is to become an ambassador of goodwill in the United Nations.

Crowned Miss Philippines World 2005 was beautiful Carlene Aguilar (22, right), a former Miss Earth 2001 fina1ist. Carlene is 1.73 m tall and will compete in the Miss World 2005 pageant to be held in Sanya, China, in December. She is already considered a frontrunner for this international prestigious crown.

Precious Lara Quigaman (23, left), who studied filmmaking in London, is the new Bb. Pilipinas-International. 1.67 m tall Lara will represent the country at the Miss International 2005 pageant in Japan in September.

The remaining finalists were 1st runner-up Wendy Valdez, ( Bb. Pilipinas Tourism ) and 2nd runner-up Melanie Ediza. Completing the semifinalists were Rica Taylor, Kristine Santiago, Marie May Paloma, Mariflor Perez, Joanne Padilla and Joanna Serrano.

24 contestants competed for the prestigious titles in the annual pageant, held at the Araneta Coliseum.
