Thanks Smithy for all your efforts over the years for Moseley. You leave the club a healthier position than when you took over. With more limited resources than many clubs in the Championship the club has progressed and this season I think we have seen the development of a strong squad of players. Like many who have expressed their views on the message board the victory at Twickers was one of the best days of my life and I will never forget it. I for one will be sorry to see you go and wish you good luck and success in whatever you will be moving on to.

It is a pity that people use the message board as a means to air their own personal, and usually uniformed, moans against individuals who have put so much into Moseley over the years and in this I include both the management of the club and the coaching staff. I doubt there would even be a Moseley if it were not for individuals such as Dave Warren and Alan Adam. I get an enormous amount of pleasure from Moseley Rugby Club and as we near the end of another season would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to not only the players and coaching staff (and in the circumstances Smithy and Mark Evans in particular) but to the management of the club and let them know that there work is appreciated.

I guess its just human nature and it happens everywhere but I think if those expressing negative views about any individuals at the club (who these days don’t even seem to have the courage to use their own identity) would like to get off their butts and put something positive into the club then perhaps they wouldn’t be seen as such a joke!

I wholeheartedly admit and accept I have been critical of Ian's selection policy throughout the season, however I would be at the front of the line to applaud what he has achieved since his arrival. There comes a point for many reasons that either you or your employer can't go on, I'm certain the directors would have expected a better finishing position and I'm certain Ian thought the squad he had built would deliver, but it simply didn't happen. Ian is a man that clearly loves a challenge, he came and he delivered where many would not have dared to tread. So therefore he has met his goal and probably rightly needs to test his skills at a level further whether that be a championship side with better funding or even a struggling prem side. Ian good luck to you, I really do hope you land the next step up the coaching ladder.
