How about getting back some of the players Ian didn't like ? Eg jinny ireland , rich vasey , mat jones , ben buxton , arnie , ollie winter , dan oselten paul cox the list goes on, only tounge in cheak but there are some good boys on that list who did well for this club.

That would be the same Matt Jones that made 23 appearances for Newport Gwent Dragons this season? Yes, he was clearly out of his depth in Nat 1 (as was)!

.....the Matt Jones who could not cut it at Moseley, London Welsh & Worcester. Not the one you referred to who warmed the bench for 17 out of the 23 squad appearances for the Dragons.

Maybe he just doesn't travel well?

Only 5 starts and 122 points. Can't possibly imagine why Dragons wanted him on board; he should definitely be no higher than, what, national 2 north?
I don't think we saw anything like the best of Matt Jones in his time with us, and regardless of how many of his 23 appearances were starts or off the bench that's 23 appearances at a higher level than eny of our other recent flyhalves have managed. I'm not advocating him coming back to the club; just think he's got a bit of a bad name with some at Mose which is maybe undeserved.
I was among many people who felt quite aggrieved at the timing and manner of Matt Jones' departure but I also know someone who used to live just round the corner from him and hearing his side of the story lends a somewhat different colour to the situtaion.

I'm not sure many on the list would be an improvement on the players we have had this season.

Dan Ostleton was a good backup for Caves, but I guess he got fed up with being on the bench. Must be considering options now Bees are down.

Jones & Vasey were OK at fly half but nothing special at this level.

Arnie was a good guy and ball carrier, maybe with Mark Evan's retirement we need more cover in the 2nd row next season.

Ollie Winter has never found a regular place at Mose, Bees or Cov. Bit of a utility player but not strong enough in any one position.

I think we have the strongest backrow for a number of seasons and Bignell would not be an improvement on Pennycook & Pons, two of the best players this season.

All of them good players in their own right but i think we have the nucleus of a good squad this season which I hope will be carried on to next with a few tweeks.

Rather than looking backwards lets look forward.

For me the first shopping list would be one more prop and 2nd Row cover as a priority

There are some old players who I would like to see return, however I think the main priority at the moment is sorting Smiths replacement and then letting them build the squad they want.
As amazed said, rather than looking back lets look forward, and support whoever is in the team next season, wherever they have come from.

I would have jimmy Ireland back always thought he was a great player and never given a chance when he come back to the club but I hear he is doing very well in Italy.
As for Arnie I think his best days might be behind him, but saying that I do keep an eye on his performances in the rugby paper and I think he is having to much fun in the lower leaugues he was top try scorer in the division last year with something silly like 30 trys and has a hat full this season & I think Fylde got promoted at the weekend.

As for the coach how about a big name ? When is Dean Richards ban up??

Richards ban should be up in 2012, although he is currently working with Worcester as a consultant.
Although given his past record of cheating I personaly would not want him in charge of Moseley, I dont mind who we have as long as they are honest.

I'm confident that Dean Richards differs from many other DoRs in having been caught and made an example of rather than having cheated to any greater degree.
My only concern over him being appointed to Moseley would be that that his salary would probably leave nothing to pay players.

We need a good coach with a good track record who won't cost too much!
