So,you are telling me that you believe our government DOESN'T lie to us about what ever they want to???? I, personaly, believe that our governement lies to us about MOST things...depending on which "party" it comes from. they tell us what they want us to believe because MOST of the majority gets their opinions from the major news networks and seldom do any personal research. If Tom Brokah says it, it's true. (NOT!!!)

If I'm not mistaken, I'm the one who sent you the URL that provided a different view point on how Jessica Lynch was treated by the Iraqi's. It came via a Canandian report - not American.

I, personally, can not - and should not - be blamed for the fact that so many of the professional politicians keep gettin re-elected and therefore, keep padding their own pocketbooks. I am a FIRM believer in term limits and will NEVER vote for someone more than twice for that very reason. So, don't blame me for Tom Sachle or any of the other idiots who keep getting re-elected. I practice what I preach!

I'm also VERY opposed to women being in combat situations. However, Jessica Lynch was never meant to be in a combat situation. She was in a company who's mission was to maintain the troops. She was never intended for combat duty. She was, for all intents and purposes, in the wrong place at the wrong time.

And as for whether we should be there or not.... I would think you, Laf, of all people should know that I do not buy the "peace keeper" crap as the reason we are there. There will NEVER be peace in the Middle East. It is a long-time, generational, deep abiding hatred that perpetrates the "unease" in the Middle East. I believe it is but a preliminary step leading towards Armageddon. The fact that you have lung cancer has nothing to do with my opinions, so quit trying to play that card here. I firmly believe that the reason our President (an oil man, son of an oil man, lead player in several oil companies) led us into this war is based on oil. Your health does not play any part in my opinion on that. There have been NO WMD's found and there will not be. The fact that we have now declared we want to be in control of their oil confirms that to me.

Coalition forces???? What other countries are included in that, Laf? The "coalition forces" which invaded Iraq are ONLY the US and Greast Britain. We may have other countries who have allowed us to "use" their bases, but the ONLY countries involved in invading Iraq were the US and Great Britain. That does not add up to 50 countries no matter what school you attended. And guess what, Laf... we did NOT go into their county to "to remove Saddam Hussein and his cutthroats from power" (your words). We went into their country because they supposedly had WMD's and we were afraid they wold used them against us... or so the lie went.

I don't hate Bush. In fact, I actually like the man a little bit. I voted for him. So, quit trying to portray me as a "Bush-hater". If you know me at all, you know that I am a person who believes that ALL politicians lie to us for their own good. It does not bother me in the least that Bush did not honor his commitment to the Texas Air National Guard. Hell, he did more than Clinton did and you know how I feel about Clinton!

The truth is, I feel we were lied to on many levels about this war but nevertheless, I totally support our troops. I know several men and women who are serving over there and they will ALWAYS have my total support and my prayers. In my quest for finding the truth, I HAVE to admit to myself that we were, in fact, lied to about the reason for this war. It was not about WMD.
