The attack had been anticipated, therefore the Light King reacted swiftly. His lithe frame twisted sharply, dodging the brunt of the vicious attack. A long gouge ripped across his shoulder, causing bright red blood to well up and cascade down over his ebon' tinged foreleg. Anger flared briefly in his chocolate gaze, ears flattened. Still acting on pure adrenaline, the mahogany stud watched for Adrian's hindhooves to touch ground again before striking. Blunt, ivory enamels were bared, slender yet muscled neck extended to nip harshly at the opposing bay's flank. His reprimand completed, long limbs carried the light Arab backwards, his burning gaze never wavering from his enemy.

"The first blood has been drawn, Adrian. What now?"
