Sun Kissed Beach

~*Paradise Under Fire*~

The beach has not changed, the tides still cycle through their phases, unperturbed by the disturbances around them. The sand still sparkles under the glaring light of the watchful sun as the palm fronds wave gently in the embrace of a light breeze. But something was definitely wrong. No birds sang in the lush forest surrounding this little slice of heaven. There were no joyful nickers of contented horses grazing on the lush grassland leading into the beach. No foals frolicked in the foam of the rushing waves. It had all changed, the serenity stripped away by the brutality of war. The battle had begun. Slowly but steadily, the ranks of the armies began to arrive. Faces devoid of happiness but touched by hope gather to face their enemies in order to preserve their way of life. Courage and loyalty had brought them here, as well as a desire to protect that which they held most dear. Only time would reveal the result of this battle, only the victors would see the next sunrise.

Sand...He mused absently, Not soft like grass, feels almost warm. Having been born and raised near the sea he posessed an innate passion for it. Why, he didn't know. It got everywhere, in his mane and in his eyes, but still more welcomed than grass or stone. The scent was overpowering as the wind played with his pelt, he hadn't noticed it when he first arrived, now it brought a cheerful sense of recognition. Peaceful. He gave a dismissive snort, sapphire eyes falling upon the herd. Small, but full of life. However content he felt to watch from his cozy distance, he was even more so to approach. So Soleil sought out the lead stallion and, for the first time in many years, planned to join a herd.

*stands upon the shore, the tide lapping around her ankles. where was her family? more really her mate, she knew her children had left, but her mate semmed gone for before she even left. and this herd seemed to involved in their own life, to even say hello to her. once again she is forgotten, once again she would leave. however, this time would be different, she would go wild, find a human perhaps. her family was gone and her herd careless, what was for her here? turns and leaves the lands*

Diamond sharp hooves leaving half-moon imprints 'pon the sand. Kipra halts and angles dial t'wards the others. Breif snort is made, unable to figure out the ways of this herd. Dial is tossed and hinds contract, pushing the kipra heavenwards. Darker flecked fores slice at the air, sending up a spray of sand. A shrill whistle is released from her. Kipra lands and bod spins, sending sand every where. Whispy banner is flagged and she releases another snort, 'fore turning once again, and speeding away . .
