~*Paradise Under Fire*~

The beach has not changed, the tides still cycle through their phases, unperturbed by the disturbances around them. The sand still sparkles under the glaring light of the watchful sun as the palm fronds wave gently in the embrace of a light breeze. But something was definitely wrong. No birds sang in the lush forest surrounding this little slice of heaven. There were no joyful nickers of contented horses grazing on the lush grassland leading into the beach. No foals frolicked in the foam of the rushing waves. It had all changed, the serenity stripped away by the brutality of war. The battle had begun. Slowly but steadily, the ranks of the armies began to arrive. Faces devoid of happiness but touched by hope gather to face their enemies in order to preserve their way of life. Courage and loyalty had brought them here, as well as a desire to protect that which they held most dear. Only time would reveal the result of this battle, only the victors would see the next sunrise.

    Chestnut mare slowly enters into the terrain. Tears flood her eyes and pour down her long face. She moves accross the sand, her hooves sinking slightly. She stops, eyes look toward the sun as it begins to sink into the large exspanse of liquid. Head is lowered in sorrow, cream mane falls over her eyes. Yes, it seemed that everything was a tangled mess and became such a knot that it could not be detangled.

    ~the stallion was indeed growing older as more days slipped by without notice. it seemed as if now, more so than ever, every day meshed with the others to become just one big, well, day. night, light, it didn't matter anymore. just one big life void of happiness and such. large, intelligent eyes sweep across the tranquil beaches with a sullen glance. not that he didn't appreciate the kindness that the inhabitants of this gorgeous place, rather, he felt like he stuck out like a big fat mole on pale, smooth skin. maybe he should just move on, like he always had. leaving the past behind was quite a challenge, but he always succeeded in the end, didn't he? like a magnet being pulled to a pole, he always was pulled right back up onto his feet again.

    the glistening chestnut strode across the sandy shore towards the water. he could use some relaxation, some slipping away of the worries he felt. as he traversed further in the cool, calming ocean, the stallion felt the luxurious water cascade over his hide drenching the coat like a sponge in a bucket. whatever to do? only he could make that decision...~

    Obviously pregnant at this point, the mare moved slowly down the stretch of beach that she so loved. A smile graced her face, a seemingly permanent fixture of her expression. Running was very uncomfortable at this point so she had to amuse herself by other means, now where were those crabs? Her tender muzzle was thrust into various tide pools in search of the notoriously cranky creatures. As if an answer to her unspoken prayers, a small crab scurried into sight, his tiny claws sporadically clenching shut. Eyes gleaming, she quickly snatched him up and tossed him onto the sand, ignoring the small twinges of pain that marked the crab's displeasure. Her forehooves dug into the sand as she faced the crustacean down. Thoroughly irritated at this point, the crab blew bubbles as he eyed the large creature barring his way home. Tentatively, he moved to the right. The creature mimicked his movements. Alright, to the left then. Once again, the mare moved with him. Clicking his claws in frustration, he tried a new tactic--speed. Rushing to right, he attempted to make a break for home. It was not to be. A proud 'crab-horse', Euphy was not about to let him have his way. Laughing in delight, she danced into his path again and flipped him back with her muzzle. This little game continued for the better part of an hour before Euphy grew bored. ~*Bye Crab!*~ she called as she sauntered away leaving the crustacean to return home. Seizing his chance in case the meddlesome creature returned, the small crab hurried toward the tide pool and slipped into its comforting depths. Safely lodged under a rock, the crab settled down for a long rant about the lunacy of the land creatures.

    ~the gleaming chestnut eyes the terrain with a thoughtful eye, hesitant to leave so soon after he had just arrived, but deeming the cause worthy enough. nipping a few sparse blades of grass with his dull canines, the stallion pondered for a long while, tail flicking in contemplation. eyes wander over the land and sea and seem to make the decision themselves. he would go visit, for there was nought else to do. he was still uncomprehended by these strangers, no matter how willing they were. he craved attention, and this trip would quell that need. now...a destination. hmmm...perhaps a new tt he'd never traversed to before would be appreciated in his mind. let's see...that would leave everywhere but PI, the Glen, Hopeful Valley, and Sunset Peaks. Not much of a choice, huh. well, there'd be time to decide later where to visit. picking up a comfortable jog, the horse proceeds out of the tt and into the unknown without so much as a whicker of farewell. maybe he'd return, maybe not. being a homeless wanderer left his future undecided~

    She galloped down the beach, her stride eating the ground, mane and tail flying out behind her like flags as if letting everyone know she has come. She felt so energized she let out a shrill whinny and bucked and played in the sand, finally tired she starts walking, her golden eyes scanning the horizon in search of other horses...

    ~the bronze-hued stallion steps forth into the terrain with a hesitant, though strong step. the sand squished beneath the sturdy hooves as the pungent sea-salt aroma burst into flared nares. alas, he had traversed from his former home, Windy Glen, to seek shelter elsewhere. the home he had spent his 10 long years in had served him well, yet its leader now left and the tt will perish/disappear in times soon to come. how unfortunate and devastating an event it was, for the mustang knows not if he will ever recover. perhaps he would never again be the stallion he was before, a playful, jovial fellow. maybe now a more solemn, aloof guy. ah, but that's the way life goes.

    crania lifts slightly, then sinks down until the lower lip practically brushes the sand. he did not care any longer what dangers or friends he would face. he would likely be a wanderer for the rest of his life, roaming from one place to the next without ever calling a tt "home" again. the traumatic experience had scarred the poor bronc for life. perhaps he'll recover, perhaps not...~

    Vix'n o' ivory hue prances forth into th' terra in which her two cousins resided. Silvery horn glitters in th' sunlight as ebon' orbs sweep th' landscape for Sunny and Violet. They had gone from th' war, since th' battles had slowed. Her TT was as beautiful as it was when she had created it, and full o' prisoners. These two had helped a lot, and she had come to thank them, and possibly visit a little.

    (ooc- Ok, this is the REAL Lady Of The Wood/ Galadriel. She's been around for almost a year. I'm not trying to be rude, but you have to change your name. This is the original in this game, and it's common knowledge that if one person has a name, and another person joins with that name, it causes confusion. It's also common knowledge that the person who claimed the name second must change it. Since I had it fisr, and you had it second, you have to change it. I'm not trying to make a scene, but I've had a long day, and what I'm saying is true. If you don't believe me, go to the mythicals and scroll down the joining board until you find her, or go to Coral Cove and see how long she's had her TT [she was around before that, of course. I still consider it to be a new Territory] *begins to settle down* I know you already made her a pic and all that, but it could cause confusion. This is the first time Galadriel's come to visit, but she, Vi, and unny got a bit closer during the war. Anyways, back to the post ^.^ *blinks* Whoa, this is longer than what Galadriel said. Hehehe)

    For anyone who knows me, or has RPed with Tori for any amount of time, you've probably seen this coming from a mile away. I'm finally officially taking Tori out of CM. This has been a very difficult decision, as Tori was always one of my favorite characters but I can't figure out her role here any longer. With Linners (Shaz) quitting, it made it very difficult, and very sad, to try and adjust Tori to life outside of SKB. I wanted to send out a huge thank you to Linz, Zackari's player, Vi's player, and countless others who made CM such a wonderful place to play. You have all been fabulous and I wish you the best of luck in life and in CM.
