In the middle of her light slumber her dreams turned to nightmares. Everything was dark and there were only two horses in her nightmare. She recognized one to be Lightning. Although she knew not the mare's name she could tell she was heavy with foal. The mare turned and cantered away, leaving Lightning alone.
Some would not call this a nightmare, but for Lightning it was. It had really happened.
She awoke with a jump and was breathing hard. Poor Lighning. She had only experienced the feeling of lonliness for a moment, but Lightning was living with it. She felt so bad for Lightning, but knew there was nothing she could do.
She calmed down and looked around. There he was, all by himself. She looked at the family she had then back at poor Lightning. She wished there was something she could do.
