Subject: definately use a ball point needle! And I use zig zag stitch on my swimwuits.

I usually set my stitch length at about medium to smaller size zig zag. Set both the length and width to about the same size. I also use just regular old polyester/cotton thread. And I've learned along the way to stay far away from the fabrics that have any kind of spangles/sequins glued on. The glue gums up the needle and it makes the thread bunch and break like crazy!
