I have 8 to 1 on my money with the Phillies and hedged a series price bet with New York so either way I'm raping this thing.

You can't say "everybody buys a championship" because New York hasn't won this one yet and they haven't won since 2000 even though they've had the highest payroll every year.

Yes, I do see the point but you can also win a championship through strong draft picks and smart acquisitions at the All-Star break.

The system cannot be corrected, either. How can you suddenly institute a salary cap and how much would it be? The top four teams would have to outright cut people and breach contracts to abide by the new terms and the Players Association wouldn't allow it.
