Illinois Pageants - THE GOOD ADVICE BOARD
Post questions and give advice about pageants in Illinois and surrounding states. No bashing of children! Watch the profanity. We just want the truth about which pageants, coaches, photographers and other pageant vendors are good and which ones we need to stay clear of and why. If some people seem to feel that everyone "hides" behind their computer, why isn't it just mandatory to list your name here? I've seen boards where you are required to list this and some even show IP addys. If "hiding" is such an issue and keeps getting thrown out, make it so that everyone has to post their name! The only time people seem to hide is when they're bashing kids. Otherwise as grown adults, we should be able to speak freely and not worry about pissing someone off! I think this would solve a lot of issues when people think the same person keeps posting, when in fact, maybe it's not.

I have heard just about enough on this Subject. All the posts in regards to the pageant have been removed. I will say this once and only once, if it is brought up again I will ban you.
I have no problem with airing a complaint but if you didn't talk to the director about the situation or you didn't speak up since you were "so appalled" because your daughter was so uncomfortable in the room then the blame is on you here. I'm not saying it's okay for grown men to be in the changing rooms, but you are the mom and as a mom if I am uncomfortable about a situation or my child is then I do what I have to to remove my child from that situation.
You said you didn't post in order to start something, but what exactly did you think your post would accomplish besides controversy. You are new to posting and I won't tolerate someone who cannot speak up at a pageant about an issue but wants to bring it up anonymously on a pageant board after the fact.
To the person who posted that the pageant was going to be a joke before it even started, you are banned. That was uncalled for.
Secondly I do not believe we need an entire post about moms and their boobs showing on stage. It's not real appealing but you see alot worse at Walmart, but I'm sure you're not making complaints to them are you?!

I just got on here today and and read what seems to have be an eliminated complaint about the triple pageant. I don't know speciffics about it but I just wanted to say thank you to Elizabeth if she checks in on this board because that pageant was HUGE and we have been to ones with 26-30 before that took WAY LONGER and were far less organized. I think for three outfits and 63 kids it ran well and was quickly paced. Her crowns are always cute and everyone gets one. For the price-that's pretty amazing because I have paid alot more to get a tiny tiara in the past. I hope no one is disappointed if their dd lost. Mine did too, but with that many girls, if you lose-you are still in good company. Everyone did great. I thought the boys all did well too considering their were only 3-4 of them and they might have been getting a little bored as boys do when they have to be patient. This was really a great time and we look forward to the next one.

Have you ever hosted a big event? Let's say a wedding? Well than you probably know that even though you ordered all the right things that maybe the place cards didn't show and everyone didn't know where to sit, that maybe the favors didn't show or even worse your DJ was late or didn't show. Moral of the story you can plan you heart out but in the end you are only one person depending on several others to make your day all come together. Ladies this is no different than running a pageant. Sometimes even the best planned pageants have drama because things are out of the directors hands and can't be helped.

So with that said, please set back and ask your selfs "what this really something the director had control over?" and if so than be sure to talk to them. We all get better at our jobs in time(and running pageants is just that!) so the more "performance reviews" we give the better they will become and the better pageants will be for us to all compete in.

We were at the Triple Pageant, and my daughter is not new to pageants, and she did not win anything. Was it our favorite part of the day? No, but here she is today, practicing in our basement for the next one. We met so many nice people and girls yesterday. She enjoyed the girls next to her in line and had fun talking to some moms in other divisions. We had fun with her cousin, who has been dying to see a pageant. We were happy to have a room to put our stuff in, even if she did have to sometimes go to the bathroom in the hall to change. Better than the bathroom all day, which we have done before. The ballroom was nice, and so was the stage. I was happy that things were pretty much on time, and that the events moved along. She got the three crowns, as promised. We were new to pageants once, and the first time she won was a big deal. I don't think it is kind to call someone a "newbie". We all want to win once we've made such an investment of time and money, but I was really relieved that my daughter was able to clap for the girls who won, keep the smile going and deal with her disappointment gracefully. In the end, in retrospect, what could have been treated like a bad day, looks pretty ok.

Dress is green with blue accents and trim. (pics will show what I mean) Should fit a full 8 to a small 12. PERFECT, age appropriate tween dress. Worn maybe five times. Comes with TWO skirts-one long gown length and one cupcake as you sometimes need both for this age. Asking 1200 and can take reasonable payments. Look at everything you get just for entering Novice of the Year/Supreme of the Year!
At hotel check in, you receive a lucky duck. Hold on to this duck and bring it to crowning! Mr. Tim will pull some numbers out of a fishbowl. If your lucky duck matches the number called.... you could win big! We have given out cruises! Laptops! Mini ipads! and more!!

At pageant registration, each child recieves an autograph sash. The kids love wearing them thru the weekend to get all their old and new friends to sign.

Mr. Tim hands each child a rose while he sings to them on stage in beauty. Then as you go off stage, you will receive a boxed lunched made specially for you by our royalty! Of course their is a toy inside the box!

During the day, stop by the Stuff Happens booth. Pick out a new friend! and also make a pixie stick! YUM!

Sat. night each contestant gets a free ticket to the ice cream social. Gotta sweet tooth? You will love this!

Then at crowning, each child wins a jacket, crown and award patches!

This is what each child receives just for entering!
