One who does not shy away from a crowd, a child covered in wonderful sticky cotton candy memories, or that of our elderly in a wheelchair. One whom is as bright and expressive as the ending firework show! Could this be you? Applications will be made available to all Taylor County residents and/or students of the Taylor County Public school system. Applications will be accepted between May 25, 2015 and July 09, 2015 for the Taylor County Calico Queen, Jr Calico Queen, Calico Pre-Teen, and Baby Calico contestants. Applications will be accepted between May 25, 2015 and July 23, 2015 for all Little Miss Calico contestants. Little Miss Calico is a Penny A Vote competition in which each contestant will collect money and turn in all collections by July 23, 2015 to the First Community Bank in Grafton. Each contestant will received a recorded deposit slip. This deposit will then need to be submitted to the WV Extension office no later than close of business on Friday July 24, 2015. Each contestant in the Calico Queen and Baby Calico division will need to submit a 5X7 photo (headshot only) for the photogenic judging. All contestants from every division will need to submit a 4x6 photo for the Mountain Statesman. Taylor County Fair Calico Queen ~ 16-21 years of age (should not exceed 22nd birthday by January 1, 2016.) $100 Registration/Sponsorship Taylor County Fair Jr Calico Queen ~ 13-15 years of age $75 Registration/Sponsorship Taylor County Fair Pre-Teen Calico ~ 9 to 12 years of age $50 Registration/Sponsorship Taylor County Fair Little Miss Calico ~ 4 to 8 years of age (Penny A Vote Competition) Taylor County Fair Baby Calico ~ 1 to 3 years of age (Prince & Princess will be crowned) $20 Registration/Sponsorship This will be a pageant like none other! The 2015 Taylor County Fair Queen will be awarded a beautiful crown, sash, trophy, and a wonderful sponsor prize package. She will also be representing the Taylor County Fair at the 2016 Fairs and Festival pageant in Charleston in Jan. To ensure she has a great start, the Taylor County Fair Board will provide the 2015 Calico Queen with a $500 shopping allowance, along with an all expense paid trip to Fairs & Festivals. Will you be the 2015 Taylor County Fair Queen? Get your applications in by July 8 to take advantage of the free Mary Kay facial prize package!
