The 2013 Mrs. West Virginia America Pageant will be held the weekend of February 15th and 16th at the Charleston Civic Center. Pageant is open state wide to women who are legally married, 18 years of age, and a WV resident for at least 6 months. Contestants may compete as a Preliminary Pageant Winner or At-Large. Phases of competition include: Personal Interview, Swimsuit (Mandatory One-Piece), Evening gown, and Onstage Question. Mrs. West Virginia 2013 will compete at Mrs. America, August 2013, in Tucson, AZ!!! Applications are now available!! Congrats to Katie Wright, Miss Lincoln County 2012, who applied for a WV Legislature Internship Program and was awarded the Judith A. Herndon Fellowship. Katie will live and work in Charleston January thru April 2013. The interns are required to perform research and various staff functions. Amoung other job related responsibilities, participants are introduced to and develop the understanding of the politics of legislation, legislative research, bill drafting, the role and function of committees and the executive-legislative liasion.
Katie will graduate in May 2013 with a Bachelors Degree in History and a double minor in Political Science and Religion. Way to go Katie!!!!

My granddaughter, Maggie Long, has been selected for the People To People Student Ambassador Program. Maggie is a Junior at Ripley High School. She will be traveling to Europe next June for 22 days of cultural learning. She needs to raise $6000 more to pay for her trip. We are hosting a NEW YEAR AMBASSADOR PAGEANT to help her.

The pageant will be December 8th in Ripley. Place will be annouced.

Entry fee: $30.00

Girls Age Divisions: Infants - 11 months; 12 - 23 months; 2 - 3 years; 4 - 6 years; 7 - 9 years; 10 - 12 years; 13 - 15 years; 16 - 21 years; and Ms/Mrs.

The Miss Tucker County and Outstanding Teen Pageant will be held on February 2, 2013 at the Tucker County High School Mary Alice Klein Auditorium beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The pageant is open state wide as follows:

Miss Division: Ages 17 - 24, competition consists of a 10 minute personal interview, swimsuit, talent (90 seconds and under), gown, and on-stage questions.
The Teen Division: Ages 13 - 17, competition consists of a 6 minute personal interview, physical fitness, talent (2 minutes and under), gown and on-stage questions.

There will also be a Junior Miss Division for 5 - 12 year olds and the competition will consist of: 3 minute interiew, casual wear, gown and on-stage questions. The winner will have her way paid to the state pagenat and participate as a Monarch Miss.

To enter, please call Phyllis Carr at 304-642-0641 or 304-478-3747. Plans are to have Two winners from the miss and teen divisions to send to represent Tucker County at the state pageants. This is a local pageant for the Miss West Virginia and Outstanding Teen Pageant.

Footnote: Molly Line was my first Miss Tucker County in 1995 and today is a news reporter and appears on the Fox News Network quite often.

SNOWFLAKE PAGEANT – NOVEMBER 17TH.

The Annual Snowflake Pageant to benefit the Miss Ripley 4th of July will be held November 17th at Ripley High School for girls and boys ages Infants through 11 months; 12 – 23 months; 2 – 3 years; 4 – 6 years; 7- 9 years; 10 – 12 years; 13 – 15 years; 16 – 21 years; Ms - Single with /without children; and Mrs. of any age.

All queens and kings will receive a crown, sash and gift. Runners-Up will be based on the number of participants in each age division. All children will receive either a tiara or medal and a gift. Dress code for the youth pageant is: Off the rack holiday wear, Custom Made, Church, Party Pageant Dress, Suit or Tuxedo. Ages 7 years and up should wear Holiday Wear, Cocktail Dress or Long Evening Gown.

Entry fee is $35.00. Sibling discounts will be given on third child and any thereafter. Fee includes 5 optionals: Prettiest Eyes, Smile, Hair(girls only), Best Dressed, Personality(boys only), Most Beautiful and Most Handsome.

Three High Point Queens and One High Point King(must have 5 in the boys to give this award) will be crowned and receive a large trophy, sash and crown.

A Fan Favorite award will also be given to a contestant in the infants – 23 months; 2 through 4-years-old; and 7 through Mrs. group. Votes are $1.00 each and can be collected in advance of the pageant and turned in at registration. The winner will receive a large crown for girls/boys and a cash award.

Doors open for contestant registration at 8:30 AM for girl’s ages Infants through 23 months and boys infants through 4 years. Pageant will begin at 9:00 AM. Ages 2 years through 6-year girls registration time is 10:30 AM with pageant time beginning at 11:00 AM. Age groups 7 years through Mrs. registration time is 1:00 PM with pageant time beginning at 1:30 PM. Admission is $4.00 per person.

Deadline to enter is November 7th. Applications are located at the Ripley Library, Ravenswood Library, City National Bank at Wal-Mart, Ripley City Hall, Glitz’N Glamour Boutique in Evans and one can be email to you by request at kking1965@yahoo.com. When: Saturday, October 27th, 2012
Time: Registration – 11:30- 12:30 The pageant begins promptly at 1:00 P.M.
Entry Fee: $50
Attire: Halloween attire (have FUN and be CREATIVE) (faces must be seen)
All contestants will receive at least a sash, trophy, and a custom Halloween tiara
Upbeat music will be provided.

Age divisions: 18 months and under baby miss, 19 months-2 wee miss, 3-4 tiny miss,
5-6-7 mini miss, 8-9-10 little miss, 11-12-13 junior miss, 14-18 miss, 18+ Ms./Mrs. BOYS ages 0-8.
We reserve the right to split or combine age groups. Highpoint and supreme titles as well!!

We will be awarding best attire, best personality, best Halloween spirit, and best smile in each division. All side awards are FREE to enter.
**A special award will go to the girl who gets the most pageant friends to enter.**

**Grab a buddy and enter the “Boo-oh Duo” contest! $5 per contestant (high scores added together for an additional title!!!)**

Overall categories are best attire, Halloween spirit, model, and personality. Entry fee for overalls is $6 each or $20 for all four.

A “Halloween Supreme” title will be awarded to each contestant who collects at least $150 in signatures. Money for this is due the day of the pageant, but must be called in to the director by October 10th. (Large crown, custom sash, and large trophy)

Beauties & Beaus Pageantry is pleased to announce a Christmas Pageant on December 15th at the Elkview Community Center! This will be both a natural and full glitz pageant. EVERY contestant will receive a crown, trophy and sash regardless of their placement in the pageant. In order to ensure the correct number of crowns, trophies and sashes are ordered we stress the importance of getting registered early! You must be registered by 11/10/12 in order to receive a crown, trophy and sash. We will have no Princess-we will award Queens and one Supreme Queen in each age division. Each Queen will receive a sash, a 2" crown and a 2 foot trophy. Each Supreme Queen will receive a custom sash, 3 foot trophy and a 3” crown. We will award 4 Mini Supremes, 4 Grand Supremes and 4 High Point Elites. The divisional breakdown will be 0-3 years, 4-6 years, 7-9 years and 10 years & Up. Each Mini Supreme will receive a custom sash, 4 foot trophy and a 4” crown. Each Grand Supreme will receive a custom sash, 5 foot trophy and a 5” crown. Each High Point Elite will receive a custom sash, 6 foot trophy and a 10” crown. ***If we have at least 75 contestants, we will award each Mini Supreme $50.00, each Grand Supreme $100.00 and each High Point Elite $150.00 on stage.*** Competitions/Fees: Beauty REQUIRED: $75 Overalls OPTIONAL: $25 Outfit of Choice OPTIONAL: $25 (Outfit of Choice will be Christmas themed). Outfit of Choice winners will receive a 2 foot trophy and there will be 1 winner per age division (this is completely separate from the Beauty portion. And is not required to compete, it's just another way for your contestant to win prizes.) (1 1/2 minutes max) and may use props. Please bring your own music if you plan on participating in the OOC. There is also a Viewer’s Choice Award to the contestant that collects the most votes by selling $1 tickets, if you wish to sell tickets let us know so we can e-mail tickets…start working on this now!! The winner will receive a Crown & Sash! This is optional. Age divisions are as follows: 0 to 11 months 12-23 months 2-3 years 3-4 years 5-6 years 7-9 years 10-12 years 12-15 years 16+ years – Miss Mrs. We do not except checks the day of the pageant. SPOOK FEST 2012

You are invited to be a part of the 2012 Spookfest Pageants!

Where: Glade Elementary School Gym

When: October 20th 2012

Time: 3:00 pm Contestants need to be there at 2:30pm

Entry Fee: Early entries $20 , Contestants entering day of the pageant $25

The 2013 WV Shanghai Parade Pageant has had to change their location from the Lewisburg Elementary School to Greenbrier East High School. Both schools are located in Lewisburg, WV. The date and time has not changed. We are still accepting applications until October 6th, so you still have plenty of time to get yours in.

We do send our queen to the state WVAFF Assoc of Fairs and Festivals pageant in January. If you love the movie "OCTOBER SKY" then why not become a part of it's continuing history?!

The Rocket Boys Festival has moved from Coal Wood to Beckley and they are looking to find their first festival Queens.

The Children, Teen & Miss Rocket Boys Festival pageant will be held on Sunday, September 30th at the John Eye Conference Center in Beckley. This is open to contestants state wide but, you must be available for the festival which runs from October 5th-7th.

Miss - ages 16-21 yrs (Interview, Evening Gown & On-Stage ?)
Teen - ages 13-15 yrs (Interview, Evening Gown & On-Stage ?)
Children's pageant - ages newborn to 12 yrs (1 oufit - red/white/blue or star, rocket, space themed)

This is a WVAFF member pageant and the Miss winner will receive an expense paid trip and 2 full passes to the WVAFF Convention and State Pageant in January, 2013. Teen winner will receive 2 full passes and hotel stay for 2 nights to cheer on her festival Miss. Other awards include crowns, custom sashes, gift certificates,....prize packages will be added to until the day of the pageant. Cash scholarship prizes will depend on how many entries received.
