Subject: Opening Announcements


I’m all grown up… now…





~The crowd fills the arena with boos as the show is kick-started by acting General Manager of Smackdown!, Stephanie McMahon. She steps out at the top of the ramp, her face completely serious, obviously not happy about how the King of the Ring ended. She waits out the boos from the crowd, remaining at the top of the ramp, then raises her mic to her lips.~

“Well I think we all know by now how badly the King of the Ring ended. Kurt Angle beating Jesse Hart for the World Championship, I assure you, WAS a fluke. But that’s not the end of the world, because it will be rectified. However, for the moment, the calibre of Smackdown! has been lowered because of the person sitting at its head with the championship belt, but you can rest assured that I managed, in the short time between the King of the Ring and tonight, to find a way to fix that. You see, we may have ONE unworthy champion, but I’m going to make sure that we have at least one champion on this show who is deserving of holding his title. And that’s why I’m holding an eight-man tournament, which will culminate at Summerslam, where the FIRST NEW-United States Champion will be crowned!!!”

~The crowd cheers at this announcement and Stephanie grins.~

“That’s right, I realized it was time to bring another belt to Smackdown!, and that’s why I’m bringing back the US championship! And the tournament will start tonight, with the first round pitting John Cena against Adonis Jordan, and Nick Dinsmore against Rey Mysterio, in a rematch from the KOTR semi-finals!”

~The crowd continues to cheer, but Stephanie shakes her finger.~

“But that’s not all the news I have for tonight. I have something ELSE to deal with, concerning what happened at the King of the Ring. It seems that Brock Lesnar doesn’t value his job too greatly, otherwise he would have been ON TIME for the huge Pay-Per-View! Well, as the General Manager of Smackdown!, it is my duty to show Brock the importance of punctuality. That’s why I am suspending Brock Lesnar indefinitely!”

~The crowd now boos loudly at this news, but Stephanie cuts them off.~

“FINALLY… Later tonight, there will be a HUGE announcement concerning what next week will hold for the World Championship, so be SURE not to miss it! And now, I give you the man who will SOON be the World Champion once again… Jesse Hart!!!!”

-With that, “Debonaire” tears over the speakers to a THUNDEROUS amount of boos from the fans, and moments later, out steps the now former World Champion, Jesse Hart.-







-Hart walks out dressed in his street clothes with a cold expression etched across his face. He gives Stephanie a nod of the head before she disappears backstage, and then heads down the ramp and into the ring, stalking around it before yelling at Bridget to “Give me the f****** mic, bitch!” Once he takes the mic, he brings it up to his lips, but before he can speak, the crowd begins a loud chant of…-


“YOU TAPPED OUT! YOU TAPPED OUT! YOU TAPPED OUT!”


-Jesse’s facial expression contorts into one of pure anger as he screams over them in his low, bass-filled, raspy voice.- You didn’t see SHIT! I did NOT Tap Out! -He paces around the ring.- I don’t know what you all think you saw, but Jesse Hart has NEVER tapped out!

-The crowd continues the chant, and he attempts to continue, but is cut off, and the chant grows even louder.-


“YOU TAPPED OUT! YOU TAPPED OUT! YOU TAPPED OUT!”


-He lowers the mic, snarling as they continue the chant. After a few moments, he picks up where he left off.- I didn’t tap out to Bret, I didn’t tap out in the War Games, and I DIDN’T TAP OUT AT THE KING OF THE RING! And last but NOT least, I did NOT Tap Out to KURT ANGLE!


-The crowd continues to chant “YOU TAPPED OUT”, but he now simply continues to speak.- Kurt Angle, much like the rest of you here in Pittsburgh, are NOT better than me! -The fans boo loudly.- I think my father said it best. If you were going to give the United States an enema, you’d stick the hose right here, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania!

-The crowd continues to boom with boos!- The ONLY reason you still even HAVE a hockey team is because of a CANADIAN, Mario Lemieux! And on this great day, Canada day, I’m going to give all of my loyal Canadian fans something to look forward to, something to cheer them up, because at SummerSlam, one month from now in Toronto, I will ONCE AGAIN become the World Champion!


-The crowd now begins to chant “WE WANT ANGLE! WE WANT ANGLE!”-


-He speaks over them once again.- And SO DO I! And I’ll get him in Toronto, and I WILL win the rematch, and I WILL become a four-time World Champion, whether you LIKE IT… or NOT!


-These loyal fans simply continue to chant “WE WANT ANGLE” over everything that Hart says, and it begins to drive him up the wall.- Chant all you want, but I still run this show, and you’re not gonna GET hi—


~Jesse is quickly interrupted as “I Don’t Suck!” blasts over the speakers, and the fans EXPLODE as the NEW World Champion appears, Kurt Angle!~









~The hometown boy comes out dressed in red track pants and a blue “Team Angle” shirt, sporting the championship around his shoulder as he makes his way down the ramp, with Hart staring down at him, clenching his jaw as he watches Kurt approach the ring. Kurt walks around the ring, slapping hands with fans in the front row with a great big smile spread across his lips. He then passes by Bridget, taking a mic and makes his way up the ring steps and enters the ring, spinning while holding the championship high above his head! Kurt then stops and looks over at Jesse with a huge smirk spread across his lips, and then begins to speak.~


Angle: Oh YOU Tapped Out Baby, Oh It’s True, It’s DAAAAAMN True! WOOOOOOOO!


~The crowd begins to chant again! “YOU TAPPED OUT! YOU TAPPED OUT!”~


-Hart is simply SEETHING, pacing around back and forth, shaking his head “no” repeatedly!-


Angle: But if you want to do it all over again, Jesse, then I’m not gonna wait until SummerSlam, I’m going to do it right NOW!


~With that, Angle comes forward with a clothesline, dropping Hart to his back! Jesse rebounds back up to his feet and stumbles back first into a corner, and Kurt is right on him with right hand after right hand! However, Jesse reverses the Irish whip and fires Angle across, and then chases in after him! Angle, however, side steps Jesse, letting the former champion run sternum first into the corner pads! As soon as Jesse stumbles out, Kurt hooks him by the waist and takes him over with a HUGE German suplex! Angle holds on and rolls through, and as Jesse’s arms and legs flail about, he takes him over with a second German!~














~The crowd begins to boo loudly as Tommy Dreamer and Chris Benoit hit the ring! Kurt is forced to release Jesse and rushes the ropes, knocking Benoit off of the apron and to the floor. As Dreamer hits the ring, Kurt goes around him for a German, but Benoit is back in, running Kurt over from behind! Angle now rolls into a corner, with Dreamer and Benoit all over him! Jesse pulls himself up and shoves himself between Dreamer and Benoit, leaping down onto Angle and cradles his head, ramming repeated right hands into it as hard as he can!~









~The crowd then pops as the Tag Team Champions, Charlie Haas and Shelton Benjamin hit the ring, coming to Angle’s aid! Haas quickly catches Benoit with a T-Bone suplex, sending him clear OVER the top ropes and to the floor, and Shelton leapfrogs over Dreamer’s charge, drilling him with a shuffle kick as he turns around!~

~Jesse turns away from Angle to see the Tag Champs wrecking some ass, and as soon as attempts to back away, Angle is back up, swooping in from behind and lifts him with an Olympic Slam! However, Benoit reaches into the ring, pulling Jesse free by his leg, and along with Dreamer, they drag him out of the ring, retreating back up the ramp!~

~”I Don’t Suck!” tears back over the speakers as Kurt, Shelton, and Charlie all call them back on, and Shelton goes as far as to sit on the middle ropes, opening them up, begging them to come back in! The crowd is going WILD as Team Angle have cleaned house, and Hart, Benoit, and Dreamer all retreat to the back, livid as we shoot directly into the Smackdown! Opening, and a HUGE announcement that has JUST come from Stephanie McMahon’s office concerning the main event!~
