I don't mean to write for Bebe - esp. if this shows up after another post - but I think she was harkening back, as Miss Pam was in her books. It's marvelous to have a perspective on this page in rock history - that they're alive & well to talk & write about it (enough were lost from the rock scene in the past 25 years).

Bebe was a young model - one of the second wave of what would be known as 'super' model, along w/Jerry Hall, Patti Hansen & Beverly Johnson. She took a left turn when she became a Playboy model - hypocrits @ the time blacklisted girls who did that - now, it's practically madatory. And then, she got into her own alt.rock performances & recordings. In that respect - along w/being a young mother & nurturing partner - she was a maverick.

Miss Pam, on the Pacific coast, had an equally strong will. She was drawn to writing & acting along w/helping create & shape the rock scene that was the early '70s - everything from searching out & supporting music to setting trends. Both she & Bebe updated the glam look for women.

Yet, ultimately, they had their own vision & I think many rockers caught onto that & wanted to be part of it, but not all could handle their independence. Their more immediate needs on-tour could be met w/local girls while they had live-in girlfriends or wives - sometimes w/kids @ home - who were strictly into homemaking. Sort of invisible homemakers.

When you're young & spirited & beautiful & talented you seek others who seem the same to you. Music & art attract women as well as men, so there are bound to be smoldering to explosive pairings. That Bebe & Pam can look back w/fondness & even laugh @ themselves @ times & still look forward to new experiences shows real character.
