Yes, it does change the meaning, as it implies that eating meat is more acceptable in cold weather. Would that be because of the fact that animals are more prone to starve, or that people can't get fresh produce in the winter except from other countries?

My friend was getting some food storage items and the sister who was the food storage coordinator was telling her that her choice to be vegan was Not In Accordance With Scripture.

I have had this friend and her family (they homeschool too)
over for dinner. We did french onion soup with a court buillion instead of beef or chicken broth, lentil salad and whole wheat rolls. Now she will eat butter, cheese and eggs on occasion, but she is totally committed to eating produce.

Her husband's pre diabetic state has been controlled by eathing meat sparingly but emphasizing protein combinations
with grains and legumes. So far he has not had to use insulin, which is a good thing.
