If Condit killed Levy -- and there is not any solid circumstantial evidence

I'm unaware of any solid evidence that she's even _dead_.
People vanish all the time; but that doesn't necessarily mean they're dead. She may be, or may not; no one knows for sure.

I heard a polygraph expert say that many guilty people do a private test in secret to see if they can get past a police test. If he did indeed pass, then what does he have to fear?

Lots. Police can be dishonest motherfuckers, esp. when they believe they're going after The Real Killer. How questions are framed and asked during a polygraph exam can make all the difference; and a polygraph tech can make a truthful person appear like he's lying. Polygraphs are intended to verify truthful statements, not necessarily detect lies (as the popular notion goes); but most of the public doesn't realize this, and assume that a failed polygraph = liar = guilty.

Myself, I don't blame Condit for avoiding a police polygraph, as it seems that the cops have their hearts set on him. If I were the man, I wouldn't set foot in a police station unless served with an arrest warrant.
