There was a stone under my right buttock, but I didn't want to move. The tiny heartbeat under my fingers was soft and stubborn, the fleeting jolts life. The space between them was infinity, my connection to the dark sky and the rising flame.

It seems appropriate on the last day of the old year to talk about new beginnings, and this passage shows the start of new adventures.

Quotes this week are random. I have enjoyed QOTD for many years, and am kind of sad we're not seeing more quotes/quoters. Hopefully more will participate with the New Year. May you all be Happy, Healthy, and Safe!
