Well that is certainly true. I am a Christian (pretty left leaning), but the far right scares me more than any non-Christian. What they (Jerry Falwell, Pat Robinson) do, IMO, is no different than what the Taliban did, all in the name of religion.

I'm fairly pro-Israel, mainly for the reasons you mentioned. Not so much because of Bush's/political reasons, but because Israel was given the land in 1948, and also because of Biblical history. But I'm not blind to the Palestinian cause.

And if what is going on does equate to ethnic cleansing, does it make it right because the Bible says so? I think not.

Also, and the thing that bugs me the most about the entire situation - just because I speak out for the Palestinians DOESN'T mean I'm being anti-Semitic. There seems to be some movement, some *something* now adays that says that anyone who doesn't jump up and down and sing the praises of Israel, or anyone who shows the least bit of empathy for the Palestinian people, is automatically anti-Semitic.

What a load of hogwash.
