And I could give less of a shit how we price drivers. I'm just happy that after 9 weeks, someone has finally started the trash talk. I was afraid I had gotten stuck in a fantasy league with a bunch of NLR bitches. Now I see that I'm in a league with a bunch of long-winded, whiney NLR bitches that have trouble adding large dollar figures and keeping a budget.

and since you read correct, and it is 4am, chancs are slim and none of me being awake when this race starts.

I left about an extra million on the table this week. Is there any way that I can give that to Smitty so that he can afford carl edwards? At least then, my inbox will be cluttered, not with why he couldn't afford any good drivers, but instead can bitch about how another "turd" ran his man off the road....and then explain why he deserves a refund.

As for the road course specialists I would treat them just like we do now. Give them an arbitrary middle of the road value. We don't ever adjust their values now do we? I thought they were $750 in perpetuity.

Good idea on the system Pimp. I'm in for whatever. I'm pretty worthless either way. I don't mind pulling for Jeff Burton or Bobby Labonte, but once they get into trouble within the first 30 laps, I start to get bored.

Chubs is right about rooting against drivers. Think anyone will pick Jr. and Waltrip this weekend, or the Hendrick cars? Hell, bandwagon here I come.

An idea for the ringers: Take their average finish from all of the races they compete in over the prior season, and use that number to determine their value.(for instance, Prewitt with an average of 4th let's say, would have a value as if he were 4th in the points.) Boris may be the exception since he may get a ride for next season. Just an idea.

for the record, i think you are on to something there. I like your idea. why didn't you come up with it sooner?

i suppose i'm different when i pick my drivers. i try to figure out who's going to give me the most points that given race....thus a schrader pick at bristol. however, i also tend to pick drivers i'd rather root for. i don't particular care for kurt busch or biffle, but i would pick them given the right circumstance. i will never/would never pick jimmy spencer even if he happen to prove he could run worth a shit.

i think half the fun of this league is rooting against other drivers you know other people are running. there's nothing better to see on sunday than a heavily picked driver shunting into the wall when you didn't pick him.

as for your new system...one flaw i see. this would be the road course specialists. these guys are low in points as these are the only races they run. but how many times has pruett, said, and fellows finished in the top 10 here. you fix that and you'll have me sold.

Another suggestion for using the points standings to determine the cost sheet.

For the record, I don't think any format change will make it easier for me to do well in the league. I admit that I am not very good at this as I have proven for years now. My suggestions are not to make the league more fair, but more enjoyable. No matter what the format is I plan on participating as I always have.

However, I personally think that picking and doing research on drivers who get some level of television coverage is more interesting than picking among back of the pack drivers. Am I alone on this? I also believe there is a way to structure the league where we can pick from the better drivers and still not have everyone picking the same two guys each week. After thinking about this I have come to the conclusion that the best way to fix what I perceive as a problem (which I also believe will become more evident as the weeks go on) is to base the cost of drivers on the point standings instead of each driver's weekly performance.

Had we used this system all season Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch and Greg Biffle would not have been so popular in the first half of the season because their respective rises in the point standings would have corrected their low start of the season values without skewing the other drivers who started the season priced correctly. (I am not pointing any fingers at the makers of the original cost sheet here, I realize that they cannot see the future and that it is not their fault that some drivers are incorrectly valued at the start of each season).

Jimmie and Newman wouldn't have remained such steals in their first season under this format either.

Yeah man...really fun. My top speed was around 145 and some change. I got slowed down a bit though...we had to pass some other cars (but that was cool).

Only pointer I can give is to make sure and hit your line and stay right on the instructor's bumper. The more they feel like you are getting it, the faster they will go.

I don't think Lowe's banking is as bad as Texas, but be careful coming out of the turns...it really shoots you to the wall.

It's a good time...you'll be finishing up right when you're getting the hang of it, but you'll appreciate what the drivers go through week in and week out.

Hey Pimp, I signed up for the Petty Driving Experience (the wife got it for my birthday). Driving date: September 24th, at 8 pm, under the lights. I picked Lowes Motor Speedway since it's close, and Daytona wasn't offered. I get to drive alone for 8 laps. I'm hoping to make it at least 3 before backin' her into the wall.
