AGREED! It is an act of the Holy Spirit to place a conviction on the hearts of those He wishes to refrain from drink; strong or otherwise.

That is exactly one of several of the reasons My husband and I do not attend "baptist," SBC, or any of the various legalistic such services in our area. While I have my disagreements with some of Hal Lindsey's statements, he hits the SBC between their pious eyes with some mighty truth with regard to their legalisms. Stating were it left entirely to the SBC in Texas he would never have entertained the notion of Christianity. (Can't count how many dance contests I won as a young-in, LOL!)

It got so that it became the main focus of many a SBC sermon and false teaching. The wedding at Cana was the first miracle noted in the Word. Jesus "left the best wine for last" Any wine diluted with any amount of other liquid is not referenced in such a manner. Vintage alone would not be distinguishable! The pastors who's services we attended stated variously: that "it was not wine" "It was kool-aid"....they were making feeble attempts at humor....and so on.
