Yes! The trademark of the typical Neo-Evangelical Fowler type is, they DO want it both ways. Fowler types want to reap all the "benefits" of being incorporated.

I contended with the young pastor here, three years ago, coming from Texas to start an Independent Baptist Church. He included 501 c 3 language in his Mission Statement draft. Even though he would not "pay the $500.00 to the IRS" for registration, the language is still there. This young pastor also had planted roots in the wicked Church Growth Movement. They remain one of two KJV churches in this town. However, once you consult with lawyers for legal advice(which is what the pastor contended the lawyers wanted the 501 c 3 language inserted in the Mission Statement), you have compromised. Your incorporation becomes your god. They give lip service to the Gospel, but they really preach another Gospel and another Mechiach.

The Fowlers have certainly read the IRS, 501 c 3 code pertaining to tax exempt status of churches and what they may and may not preach from the pulpit. The Rt Rev Fowler considers PFA a corporation and, thus, subject to corporate law.
