Subject: Re: Moore Examples of a PFAKE's Apostate Problems
In reply to: ekklesia 's message, "Moore Examples of a PFAKE's Apostate Problems" on 07:51:00 12/31/02 Tue

I received this as part of the February Calvary Contender newsletter:

"PAT ROBERTSON SUPPORTS TEACHING OF THEISTIC EVOLUTION-Ken Ham (Answers in Genesis) said AiG received a number of letters from people dismayed and shocked by Pat Robertson comments on a couple of "700 Club" TV programs about those who believe in the six literal days of Creation (12/30 Chr. News). But Ham said he visited Robertson's Regent University several years ago and found that several professors were teaching theistic evolution."

From Webster's 1828 Dictionary:

THE'ISM, n. [from Gr. God.] The belief or acknowledgment of the existence of a God, as opposed to atheism. Theism differs from deism, for although deism implies a belief in the existence of a God, yet it signifies in modern usage a denial of revelation, which theism does not.

THE'IST, n. One who believes in the existence of a God.

THEIS'TIC
THEIS'TICAL, a. Pertaining to theism, or to a theist; according to the doctrine of theists.

EVOLU'TION, n. [L. evolutio.] The act of unfolding or unrolling.
1. A series of things unrolled or unfolded; as the evolution of ages.
2. In geometry, the unfolding or opening of a curve,and making it describe an evolvent. The equable evolution of the periphery of a circle, or other curve, is such a gradual approach of the circumference to rectitude, as that its parts do all concur, and equally evolve or unbend; so that the same line becomes successively a less arc of a reciprocally greater circle, till at last they change into a straight line.
3. In algebra, evolution is the extraction of roots from powers; the reverse of involution.
4. In military tactics, the doubling of ranks or files, wheeling, countermarching or other motion by which the disposition of troops is changed, in order to attack or defend with more advantage, or to occupy a different post.

It is a dangerous thing to use Theistic along with Evolution. Man's origin was not by evolution or natural development of forces within matter, organic or inorganic. Only the works of man himself proceed on the principal of evolution or development, for example: man has gone from plowshare to the steamshovel; from the raft to the ocean liner; from the cave to the skyscraper. But the birds build their nests today as at the beginning. The moment we pass the boundary and enter the divine sphere, no trace or sign of evolution is found.

1. The evolutionary theory represents man is rising from a lower order of being, while the Scriptures declare his origin to be due to the direct creative action of G_d.
2. The evolutionary theory represents man as being the result of successive changes in the material forms due to resident forces within, while the Scriptures declare that man's physical being is the result of G_d's action upon it from without.
3. The evolutionary theory represents man as the climax of development, ascending through the lower forms of animal life, while the Bible declares him to belong to the distinctive human order, whose entrance into being was immediate and direct.

Evolutionary theory is bankrupt. It is more the result of philosophic necessity than of scientific certainty since man must have some explanation for ultimate origin without reference to G_d. From a purely scientific perspective there are numerous difficulties;

1. The inability to explain the origin of life itself from the natural processes of nonliving;
2. The impossibility of delineating a law of progress outside of dehumanizing technology;
3. The complete absence of any connecting link between the transmutation of even two species in any scientific investigation;
4. The absolute incompetence of scientific humanism to formulate any system of philosophy that provides for ultimate meaning, purpose, and significance.

Isa 43:7
7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.(KJV)

There are 3 verbs in the Hebrew used here:

Isa 43:7
7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.
(KJV)

"I have created him"(formed him out of nothing)

1254 bara' (baw-raw');

a primitive root; (absolutely) to create; (qualified) to cut down (a wood), select, feed (as formative processes): -choose, create (creator), cut down, dispatch, do, make (fat).

"I have formed him"(caused him to exist in a shape or form appointed)

3335 yatsar (yaw-tsar');

probably identical with 3334 (through the squeezing into shape); ([compare 3331]); to mould into a form; especially as a potter; figuratively, to determine (i.e. form a resolution):

KJV-- X earthen, fashion, form, frame, make (-r), potter, purpose.

"I have made him"(made the final dispositions and arrangements respecting him)

6213 `asah (aw-saw');

a primitive root; to do or make, in the broadest sense and widest application (as follows):

KJV-- accomplish, advance, appoint, apt, be at, become, bear, bestow, bring forth, bruise, be busy, X certainly, have the charge of, commit, deal (with), deck, + displease, do, (ready) dress (-ed), (put in) execute (-ion), exercise, fashion, + feast, [fighting-] man, + finish, fit, fly, follow, fulfill, furnish, gather, get, go about, govern, grant, great, + hinder, hold ([a feast]), X indeed, + be industrious, + journey, keep, labour, maintain, make, be meet, observe, be occupied, offer, + officer, pare, bring (come) to pass, perform, pracise, prepare, procure, provide, put, requite, X sacrifice, serve, set, shew, X sin, spend, X surely, take, X thoroughly, trim, X very, + vex, be [warr-] ior, work (-man), yield, use.

There are some telling words condenming Dake and his followers in the last few lines under "The Doctrine of Man," above. The word mystery in that commentary is intersting. The word mystery is strictly an New Testament term used 21 times.

From Matthew Henry's Commentary concerning the mystery known by the Apostles.

Mark 4:1-20 PP4

The secret of the Lord was with them. That instructed them, which others were only amused with, and they were made to increase in knowledge by every parable, and understood more of the way and method in which Christ designed to set up his kingdom in the world, while others were dismissed, never the wiser. Note, Those who know the mystery of the kingdom of heaven, must acknowledge that it is given to them; they receive both the light and the sight from Jesus Christ, who, after his resurrection, both opened the scriptures, and opened the understanding, Lu. 24:27,45.

Another mystery is taught by the Apostle Paul in 1 Corinthians 15:51 and the Rapture of the Church.

Then, we have the mystery of G_d in Revelation 10.

WRT--"If we will take the Bible literally as to what it says about Him, as we do with other things the subject will be very clear; but if we make God a mystery, ignoring the plain statements of Scripture about Him, and refusing to believe the many descriptions of God given by those who have seen one, two, and three separate persons called "God," then we ill remain in ignorance."

Having had first had knowledge of the wholesale departure from "the plain statements of Scripture about Him," it is easy for me to believe Satan is alive and well within the Charismatic/Third Wave ranks. Satan has great, but limited power, to deceive and destroy multitudes. They never quite seem to get the idea in their punkin' heeds, the devil could be causing their "miracles." And giving G_d the glory for something He was not the author and creator of, is NOT a good thing.

Isa 5:20
20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
(KJV)
