Heather -
I am not an addict and never even seen meth -but I can tell you this: My ex quit using on his own -without rehab, therapist, or GOD. He continued to smoke pot and drink. He was wonderful, loving father, communicative, and back to the super great person he can be. That lasted about 3 months and now he is using again -probably more so b/c those that were there w/him through the first time have all cut him off! So -I can't answer from an addicts viewpoint, but can tell you from getting my degree in psychology with a minor in addictive disorders that the chances are very very slim for someone to remain drug free on their own without rehab. Heck -with rehab most people don't stay clean for the first or even second time in rehab. If your wanting to convince a judge of something -be it that he is a meth addict who has never been to rehab so if he tries to say he is not using, he has never addressed his problem so you don't want your children around him until you know with 100% certainty that he is not using and therefore putting your childrens life in jeapordy! If he is NOT using and wants to see his kids -he will take a drug test to PROVE to you your WRONG (and we know how they love to prove that!!).
Good luck to you!
Shelly
