Brechin ignored the sound of the raven. Drekka, however, turned her head towards the sound. But then Brechin spoke as the wolves below began their fight.
"Is that Nightfall and his lot?" he asked, suddenly recognizing the wolves. His eyes narrowed, and a paw stepped forward. Drekka looked at the wolves below.
"Yes, it is he," she said. Brechin stood, ears laid back.
"That fool. He could not win against these wolves..." he said. Drekka narrowed her own glittering orbs, and her midnight pelt bristled in thought.
"What are you implying, Brechin?" she growled. "I know they are not the best. But they could use some practice."
Nightfall stumbled as Chijiresusu came at him, and his footing was lost for a moment, but it was quickly regained, and he lept to the side, blood oozing from gashes on his legs and paws. A horrible growl escaped his throat, and his pelt ruffled angrily. With a twist of his body, he hopped to the side of the wolfess and raised his head and neck, viscious jaws blocking his jugular. He brought his jaws down, trying to grab onto the back of her neck, and he thrust his weight into her to knock her down.
Storm was pushed back, away from the others by Demon, and his left shoulder was torn open by the savage jaws. A scarlet tide began to flow down his leg, and the blood steamed in the cold winter air. He leaped away from his attacker, surprised at the ferocity of Demon. He had expected a hard fight, but it appeared that he had still underestimated this Varg. Black maw writhes back to reveal his ivory teeth, and he lunges at Demon, snapping almost in the same manner, trying to drive them back nearer to the others. He had seen what Demon was attempting to accomplish, and he did not want to let it happen. He had seen the firceness in the Varg's eyes, and he was frightened by it, though he did not let it show. His steps were uneven due to the pain in his shoulder.
Gallia refused to let Diablo push her back, though his claws raked at her pelt. She sank her teeth in deeper, and she could taste the blood that flowed from this wound. But she knew the danger she had put herself in. It would be very difficult for her to protect her jugular like this for very long. She shook Diablo's muzzle savagely, and firce growls rattled from her throat. Finally, she let go, and leaped to the side, awaiting Diablo's attack, carefully guarding her neck.
SwItCh was startled by this attack. He had not expected such force from the smaller, more timid of the Varg siblings. Before he could get away, Nikira's jaws clutched at his throat for a split second. He leaped back, as though she were a pit of snakes, andglared angrily at her. Blood dribble profoundly from the wound in his neck, and stained the snows, adn He shook his head, as though he had been struck. His tongue lolled out slightly, and a very faint gurgleing sound was to be heard, but only for a moment. Blood dripped from his mouth, and he gave a cough. Licking the blood back and taking shallow breaths, She poised himself once more...
Brechin watched intently, eyes locked on the battle. His velvet ears were drawn back. Drekka watched, highly amused.
"This is proving to be a good fight, wouldn't you agree?" she asked. She laughed malevolantly, and her silky voice stroaked Brechin's ears like a deadly poison.
"Yes, it is. Though I must say, I am surprised Nightfall has lasted even this long..." answered the Varg. Then movement caught his eyes. He turned his head slightly towards the direction of Letha. He witnessed her inward struggle, though he was not aware of it. Blazing orbs narrowed, wondering if something was the matter. It indeed looked as though she were simply caught up in the fight, as Drekka had assumed upon seeing her. But he thought otherwise...
