It could be the little pitter-patter of tiny fury feet that give the game away as to the identity of the latest visitor to The Magicbox, but it’s more likely the munch, munch of assorted cookies that reveals that it can only be….Teddy Bear!!

Hi folks, as you can no doubt tell I’m still filling in for our resident magick slinger, aren’t you lucky…must have a cookie first though ~munch~ there that’s better.

Okay people we’re still playing catch-up, but we did watch Time Bomb recently and here are some thoughts of ours (okay, they’re mostly Rack’s). (Written in that invisible font stuff) **

Some predictable things in this episode. Illyria rescuing Gunn was fairly obvious, although we didn’t think that she would do it of her own bat. As we mentioned in that last post, Illyria would soon begin to want to lead the group and indeed possibly seek to be a powerful figure in the world. She’s used to being worshipped and that is a drug that would be hard to give up. The time jump sequences were done well and vaguely reminded me of the book “Slaughterhouse 5” where something similar happens to one of the characters. The theme of the episode appeared to be about adapting and only time will tell if Illyria will adapt to the world now that she has lost most of her power.
Couple of things thought, was the proposal that W&H pitched to Gunn in the previous episode merely a scriptwriter ploy to demonstrate that Gunn had learnt his lesson and was therefore worth saving or are W&H plotting something new? Secondly, Hamilton’s seemed a little too nonchalant about Illyria, trying to sound like W&H weren’t that interested in her as a problem. But I suspect that they are only too please that she is less of a threat now. Consider the idea that Illyria wasn’t about to explode and had succeeded in taking over W&H office from Angel. She would be less likely to be such a pawn of the senior partners. Hamilton’s little titbit of information to Wes did appear to be quite pivotal. But we found the most interesting event happened at the end when Angel was willing to sanction the contract between the Fell people and Amanda (played by David’s real life wife) knowing as he does that they intend to sacrifice the child when they reach thirteen (I think that was the age). Did he do this to mislead Hamilton into thinking that they were succeeding in corrupting Angel or is their plan really working? Only time will tell. By the way, nice to see that the others are starting to notice that Wesley is losing touch with sanity, wonder if that will become an issue in future episodes.

A big Congratulations to Kitty on the birth of her bouncing baby boy. I’ve always wondered why people say that ‘coz babies don’t bounce. Anyway, one thing babies need is a teddy bear to cuddle.

It’s Friday and you all know what that means…yes it’s Rack’s (teddy bear’s) Track of the week
In view of the weather outside Rain by The Cult

The Cult have been one of those bands that have always enjoyed crossover appeal from Heavy Metal, Goth to just plain normal rock fans. This is a track from their seminal “Love” album, which to some remains probably their finest album (other notable tracks include Love, She Sells Sanctuary and Phoenix). This is one of those songs where simplicity really is the key, Billy Duffy creates a hook that is simply infectious. The lyrics are few but set the tone for the song very well indeed, conveying the intended message and Ian Astbury is on fine vocal form on this and indeed throughout the entire album. So sit back, put you feet up and who cares if it’s raining.

I think I hear his master’s voice calling me so I’d better get going..

C-YA!!!
