He stands momentary looking upon the counter. He’s magical senses detecting something, something he craved. Spying, as he did a tray of strawberries left by the thoughtful Goddess Fire. The warlock strides purposefully towards them, a bulge noticeably visible in the left pocket of his leather trench coat. A head suddenly appears over the edge. The head belongs to that of a teddy bear, the warlock’s infamous familiar.
Upon arrival at the counter, the warlock thinks to himself. “I can’t eat all those strawberries. People might think that I’m greedy”.
A click of the warlock’s fingers and a napkin appears. He lays the fresh, crisp white linen on the counter adjacent to the tray. He then proceeds to carefully and delicately place two of the finest, plumpest strawberries upon the napkin by their stems. He momentary considers adding a third but then decides against it. He then picks up a chocolate cookie and hands it to his familiar, who nibbles at it as one would a canapé. The warlock then returns his attention to the small tray of strawberries, picking it up he heads towards the darkness ‘neath the stairs.
When he gets to the mini fridge he pulls the still nibbling teddy bear from his left pocket and places him upon the fridge. Opening the door to the fridge he deposits three quarters of the strawberries inside, treating them as though they were precious diamonds. He then begins to make light work of the remaining treats.

Hi all and waves to Almond, Dogtrot, Gothicwoman, (extra) Flamely Goddess Fire, Kung Fu, Kevin, LionHunter, Mazzy, Spikegood, tarasApprentice and Watcher (just remember that Fith belongs to me)

I have a feeling that in a few days time people will come down with a sickness and spout endlessly about a film with a wi*ard in it. Just so that you know that whilst this happens I’m off to find a big rock to hide under ‘til you all get better.

Mazzy: Hope that you get back to full recovery soon after your ordeal.

Lotd: You’ve seen the money that JK Rowling is making writing books about a wi*ard. Just think how much more you could make if you wrote some about a warlock instead. No, oh well just a suggestion.

almond: Haven’t quite finished “Warriors Apprentice” yet, but I should do so hopefully be the end of the week.

Thoughts on Tru finale written in invisible scrawl

On the whole I thought that Tru Calling improved towards the end. The show desperately needed something than the who did it/will do it scenario. Most of the time it wasn’t too difficult to figure out the culprit and they never seemed to have the time to develop the character of Tru. Things improved with the involvement of Tru’s father in her mother’s death, although I have to admit that I thought this was more to do with Tru’s mother uncovering something about him during a “rewind day”. As I think he was working for the DAs office I assumed that he was perhaps involved in some corruption. Although I found it a little odd that he married and had three children with someone that he could quite calliously have murdered. I think that the show needed a character like Jack, maybe Jason Priestly isn’t the best actor to play him, he comes across as a bit too smarmy for my liking. As for the season finale, it was kind off predicable that someone was gonna get killed, although I did think that it may have been Tru’s older sister Meredith instead of her boyfriend (or ex-boyfriend) Luc or even her best friend Lindsay. The reason why I thought that it would be one of those is that Lindsay appeared to be going out of the show after she had got married and we haven’t seen Meredith in the series for a while, in fact I don’t think that Jessica Collins name appears on the opening credits anymore.
I’ve had some thoughts about the series, it appears that the “pro lifers” if you like are female (this is based on Tru and her mother) and the “don’t mess with death” appear to be male (Jack and Tru’s father). Also I figure that once you’ve asked for help once that’s it, this might fall down if it was Davis who asked for Tru’s mother’s help, but I recon that it was his wife, so that theory can hold true (no pun intended). It also appears that both pairs “rewind” when one is asked for help, although It’s unlikely that Jack is asked by any recently deceased for his assistance.
We know that Tru’s mother could rewind and it assumed that she passed this ability on to Tru. However, tru is the youngest in her family so why her and not Meredith. Also, why didn’t Tru’s father pass his ability on to Harrison? Plus, as Tru is the child of parents with this unique ability, is she somehow more special? If Tru dies, then Jack no longer rewinds, is it also the case for Tru if Jack dies?
Hopefully season two will continue to improve and provide answers to these questions.

Some thoughts on Not Fade Away

After the disappointing finale of BtVS I’d hoped for something of a improvement with Angel’s finale episode. In a way I can sympathise with the people involved, your half way through a series and all of a sudden it’s ending. What was the planned season finale and how closely it resembles the series finale we may never know. As for the actual season ending, well it did so much fade away as ended abruptly. Wesley we know for sure is off to pastures new (unless Tru’s around to save him) and Lorne is heading for destination unknown, which leaves Spike, Illyria, Gunn (looking the worse for ware) and Angel to perhaps survive and make it onto the big screen if a movie is in the offing.
There were some nice touches in the episode, Anne making an appearance for the first time since season two I think. Spike’s rendition of the poem that he wrote for Cecily went down a storm with the biker bar, perhaps her could revive his former career. I felt a little short changed that we didn’t see much of them in action. Spike and Illyria appeared to dispatch there allotted members with ease. Only Gunn and Angel appeared to have any real opposition and Wesley had perhaps the most difficult task of all, going up against a warlock. Although the writers appeared to have noticed the unlikely mismatch and had Vail refer to himself as a wizard on order to make his defeat more believable. Couple of things that I didn’t like are Harmony getting fired and Lindsey getting killed by Lorne. Lorne of all people…and I like Lindsey an’ all.
Biggest question has to be, was Angel’s signing away of the Shanshu prophecy has the way been paved for a Spike spin off? And wasn’t that the dragon that we was at the end of BtVS season Five? I always wondered where he got to.

Some news that may interest UK posters, whilst teddy was watching Charmed on cable last Thursday he began to bounce up and down excitedly pointing at the screen. At first I thought that the little furball had lost it and had finally flipped, but no. He was instead pointing to a trailer for Joan of Arcadia which will air on LivingTV starting June 7th, which is next Monday. I’ve already seen the first half of the show and the second half is winging its way to me. This show may possible be the best thing to temp people over to the darkside. Can you watch it and not find God irksome, cause I can’t. Anyways, watch it and make your own mind up.

Oh BTW, whilst I was idly looking on the US ebay, I noticed that there were some Lawnmower Deth albums for sale. Fair makes me glad to know that the greatest group on the planet did not go unheeded in the States. One day people of all nations will rise up and say "Hear our cry….Mower enslaver die!!!".

But until then…take care all.
