Agreed with Ali, relatively simple to operate. The debate on its validity is more complicated and everyone agreed that the old system was weak.

In terms of the great validity debate, it flounders somewhere in a number of value judgements:

a) whether team scoring is really more valid than adding individual scores.

b) whether the uni circuit is acutally too imbalanced to make the new format work.

c) whether instability in a team scoring 1,1,1,46 beating a 2,2,2,42 team was worse than 1,1,1,48 beating 2,2,7,7 sometimes. Both IMTM and TMTM were "unstable" (variously defined) in some circumstances.

In the end it was agreed that we need to test both formats -Warwick (and possibly SF) doing TMTM and Sheffield IMTM and then decide which is best "value"- and try that for IVDA.
