Not really. I didn't develop a 'complicated' system for the sake of it - anything else has big flaws. Anyway, it's actually quite intuitive as systems go - certainly more so I think than the skating system. The only objection I've heard of any kind (and certainly the only one with any basis whatsoever) was Ian's point about instability over unbalanced teams, but after exhaustive discussion it was concluded that we already had the best solution anyway.

The scoring system as proposed is pretty intuitive anyway - it's a lot like the premiership for a start - and has the advantage of using nothing more than primary school maths.

I might add that the scoring system is not being put into the consitution directly - instead as an appendix (this was partly to avoid cluttering the const with a lengthy description, and partly to allow it to be tweaked during the early testing phase without a (totally unneccessary) recourse to a GCM).

If anyone has any objections at the GCM wrt the scoring, I would suggest dicsussing it at a later date (I won't be there as I'm in Edinburgh and noone pays my travel fares anymore!) as no decision needs to be made at the GCM. (though I will be available on the phone if anyone has any questions).
